Top 5 Best and Worst Donkey Kong Bosses - Donkey Kong Month

The first ever video of DONKEY KONG MONTH! We celebrate the cheers and jeers when it comes to the bosses of these games. I include DK64 in this even though I just call it the "Donkey Kong Country" series. Enjoy!

I'm kinda surprised the DKC2 Kaptain K. Rool fight wasn't in the best fights. It's pretty darn difficult.

It's interesting that you repeatedly pointed out "waiting =/= excitement."

The original King K. Rool boss fight was nothing but waiting. You dodged the cannon balls, and then waited for KKR to throw his crown. And then waited while he jumped around the stage. And then waited for the cannon balls to pass you again.

I may be alone on this but... I loved King Kut Out. Yes, you had to hit him the exact same way all the time but so what? that laugh was worth it. even if you died from getting inside the cannon too late... or too early.

I personally found the Chicken Boss and the red Thugly boss from dkc returns to be incredibly difficult in mirror mode, and beating them were two of the most satisfying moments I've had in games.

I feel like Bashmaster didn't get enough credit here, his ice projectiles get really cool towards the end of the fight, especially when he's shooting them extremely quickly, and then fakes you out.

Personal favorites (I have not played DK64 or Tropical Freeze):
-K Rool (DKC2) Awesome music, fun kind of challenging even tho I nearly always die on the last part of the 3rd phase
-K Rool (DKC1) The reasons you stated
-Bumble Bee Rumble (DKC) Intimidating like King Zing, and nostalgic
Personal least favorites
-K Rool (DKC3) Kinda anticlimactic, feels like an easy puzzle platformer boss
-Mole Train (DKCR) Combining mine cart antics with whack-a-mole, and being a marathon boss
-Colonel Pluck (DKCR) The reasons you stated
-Second K Rool fight (DKC2) Anticlimactic, takes only one hit after a long gauntlet of attacks

It made me rly scared since if I missed a shot I would lose a kong... for some reason that just made me super scared :O

My personal favorite boss in Tropical Freeze was Skowl the Startling. I feel like he was a much better giant egg dropping bird boss than Krow from DKC 2 or Stu from DKC Returns. I also really liked Mad Jack from DK64's Frantic Factory level.

I like Tiki Tong from Donkey Kong Country Returns.The music is perfect for Tiki Tong.He's a certain type of hard which gives him a good place in memory.

I always had a liking for Stu, the 3rd boss in DKC Returns. This was the first fight in which bombs had a major impact, and I loved the diversity in his different spastic movements. Also, he has a nuke. Just sayin'.

First of all, thanks for doing the Donkey Kong Country series justice with these videos. I grew up with them and love them all.
Secondly, my favorite boss was Kaptain K. Rool from DKC 2. The different ways he would should projectiles at you kept you jumping to avoid damage and got harder as the fight progressed. And the start of the rematch when his gun is full of water was hilarious.

Surprisingly, Colonel Pluck was my favourite because of how different I felt while playing it. Most other bosses didn't really amp up my courage while watching a cutscene, but Colonel Pluck really did. +His theme is my favourite out of all of DKC:R.

Clearly the most fascinating and hard of all was Captain K. Rool at the secret world (DKC2). It started with a funny animation of Captain firing a fish, then madness. Also the scenario is awesome and meaningful: its the very industry that generates Kremlings. I miss him in the list!

I disagree for colonel cluck. He was one of the best bosses in the game. I mean sure, the first phase could get a little tedious, but the rest of it was awesome. Look at his moves while he's flying!

Donkey Kong 64 is my second favorite game of all time.

Dogadon had the darkest battle and death of any dk character. You legit kill his child and burn him alive. Which honestly traumatized me as a kid. It looks pretty real too when he burns.
