Outstanding. Being a Californian, motorcyclist and something of a desert rat, I’ve visited the town several times over the years. I’ve entered up over “the falls” route as well as from the highway. Its a fascinating place to be sure. You managed to find some of the most interesting folks to talk with, as you always do. Well done.

I hope this place never goes away, it's a very rare thing to find a place that is as free as this town. I've lived in Maine for over 20 years and have never seen a town that is not embroiled in politics one way or another. To know that a free town still exists in our United States is a relief to this tired soul.

When people around me tries to describe Americans based their narrow minded view when reading about world politics I often bring up these kind of warm, wholesome and free-minded people that I usually bump into when traveling around in these wonderful parts of the states such as Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah. I meet them outside gas stations, at motels, in roadhouse restaurants etc. etc. The American people is sure as hell not the government. This is along with the nature and scenery one of the reasons why I love the US and take the early road-trips around in the area, not for the shopping malls, the amusement parks or any of the plastic surreal parts of the country which usually is what people from Europe refer to when describing their trips to the US! When people say that they love the Italians or the French mentality they’ve never been around to meet the authentic Americans /Love from Sweden 🇸🇪

This lovely village looks exactly like Siwa oasis here in Egypt 🇪🇬.
Most of its residents has run away from the crowded cities and the disorders and the huge range of inconvenience.

Funny, I was born in Keeler and my parents soon moved Bishop, one of the town's people shopping places. We left California in the middle 50s and now I live in Arizona. I am certainly fascinated with the old mining towns. I love watch the Cerro Gordo video near that area also. It amazes me that people live in the hottest place in America.
