Been in the hospital a little over a month now... these adventures keep me from going insane. Thank you, Adam for all that you do... just to entertain us. You perform a valuable service...sometimes I don't think you realize how valuable, to people like me.

The town of Boron is named for the element Boron which is mined as Borax near Boron. Twenty Mule Team references the number of mules used to pull the enormous wagons of borax out of the valley during the 1800s.

I enjoy when you are traveling the back roads and showing us the abandoned locations.

The rumor here in Vegas is that Buffalo Bill's has maintained the coaster during the pandemic in order to keep their permits active. They have begun hosting concerts in their event center there. Assuming that business eventually picks up, it seems they plan to reopen the coaster.

Hi Adam,
In my opinion this type is your finest videos. Really not the theme park or museum video fan but visiting places of yesteryear is truly historic and educational. Your narration is spot on.

Should have joined up with WonderHussy (AKA Sarah Jane), that desert is her backyard and she knows all the great abandoned places.

You should get Wonderhussy to show you around out there.

I rode that roller coaster back in 2006 and I believe it was the fastest coaster that time. It was definitely a rough ride.

Sir, I was born in Boron in 1958. I visited my hometown in 2015 and found that our house had been torn down and a new one was built in its place. Your video brought back fond memories of long ago. I want to thank you for doing this video and I appreciate your efforts.

"Big plane" was probably a B-52 out of Edwards AFB, which is not too far away. Boron used to be a Radar installation base hence all the Air Force museum stuff.

Safe travels! Might not be on your schedule this time, but the Cerro Gordo Ghost Town is a cool spot (about 2-1/2 hours north of Boron). Have to put Brent and his town on your bucket list for another journey.

Drove through Boron on Friday. Happened to get off the highway to check out something in the town, and found the aerospace museum. The single volunteer was extremely friendly and invited me to tour the interior (having to turn the lights on in the process). They received a lot of their planes from a museum in Lancaster, CA that closed. It might seem like a strange place for an aviation museum, but the proximity to Edwards Air Force Base (hence the B52 flying overhead) is the main reason for its existence.

This is the best Woo. No one can capture the nuances of backroad America like him. I know you can’t be on the road all the time, but selfish me wishes you would. Be well, be safe my man.

How do you go through BORON CA ( pronounced BORE-ON) and drive on Twenty Mule Team Road and miss the biggest and only Borax mine in the USA? Hence the big Tonka Truck you passed. You really missed out there. They have a great visitor center and tour.

That large jet aircraft that you saw was a Boeing B-52 Strato-Fortress bomber. This type of jet aircraft was first flown some 70 years ago. It is still in use by the USAF. It is expected to remain in use till the 2050’s! I’ve always wanted to see one of these things. Glad you got to see one in flight.
