Another thought. We were both employees making minimum wage. He met me the same month he was on the paper for being a quick employee. He married me and his income doubled. Then he got his business and it’s booming. My income didn’t go up. I had his kids and I get to raise them home. I do the cooking and cleaning and go to all their appointments etc. I even have to TaKe care of them by myself some weekends even if I don’t want him to work so hard. It looks like he did it all himself but he literally got inspired to do better and TaKe risks because he met the girl he wanted to marry. He’s also saving a lot of money because I’m around to do house work. Yet my situation it’s quite vulnerable. I can not go anywhere without atleast one baby. And for more than 5 years I am not racking up pension. He is. It’s not a free rent situation. It’s just a risk you take. Do we wish the other have more risk? Or are we thinking we want our children have less risk? Talking about it and we will leverage each others benefits and disadvantages. He considers what I do as valuable as what he does. I even saved his business from a crook Accountant. I think many men become selfish specially after cheating. All of a sudden they forget the wive’s contribution to their success. Some men overspend in luxury while their wives are being frugal, then after divorce they get Angry they can’t live the old lifestyle. The ex wife sometimes is not getting all that much.

So glad I married while we were both in college and didn’t have shit. We literally lived in a rustic cabin, then a boat, a camper, and a tent…. totally happy to dream together. We built our life and family over the last 10 years through hard work and TONS of sacrifice. All worth it.
The relationship problems people are facing seem way overly complicated and needlessly stupid.

My husband married down twice. It got him 5 kids, heartbreak, legal problems, never going anywhere in his career, lower than low self esteem. I come along (I see us as being on the same level, extremely similar parents and upbringing) he is finally on an upward trajectory. I also work a full time job and doesn’t want to be taken care of like the last two for doing nothing. A good woman can be an asset.

I was taught by society & family to only look for only guys that earn more than I do until I got divorced from one, which almost ruined me financially.
