When we recite The Nicene Creed, we're affirming that we believe in some pretty wild stuff. Up to this point, we've examined parts of the Creed that even newcomers to the faith can kind of get with. We believe in one God. Okay fine. God made everything that is and will be. Alright, if I believe in God, that seems to track. But now we get to the part that even early Christians couldn't wrap their heads around. They even tried to reason it away. But here's the problem. If you can reason it away, then our faith means nothing.

In this session, Dr. Chris Hall talks about the violent, embarrassing execution of Jesus Christ as we should truly understand it. Dr. Hall walks us through Jesus' death and burial. Then we'll learn about why Jesus alone had to conquer death and why this is central to our faith. That leads us to another foundation: Jesus shares the heavenly title of King by sitting at the right hand of our Heavenly Father. And with death conquered, God's reign lasts forever.

This stuff may be wild, but it is true. Explore this foundational statement of our fatih and the heresies it was meant to combat. As we walk through another section of The Nicene Creed.
