Plagueis also had a more pragmatic view of what the empire would be for and what their co rule would have been like. His entire life centered on maxichlorian research and trying to undermine the fantasy of the force with analysis. He had no interest in politics. He viewed imperial unity as a means. So I actually believe he would despise the Death Star and view it as an unstable bludgeon in a universe meant to operate as it always had, but with he reaping the benefits. Sidious was the one preoccupied with military, fascist domination. At best, Plagueis would have tolerated it as a wasteful symbol and used it as such. His primary concern was always on removing the Jedi and furthering his control of the force itself, not the galaxy. Research he never completed that Sidious never learned, having to resort to old alchemy to preserve himself due to his obsession with literal political power.

Plagius would have been intrigued by the power to destroy a world but only if he controlled the death star. Someone below him having that power would have enraged him. Imagine some careless warlord blowing up worlds with rare specimens or force forbid one of his labs.

I think Plagueis would absolutely despise the Death Star, while he could totally get behind it's efficiency, that's where his praise would stop I believe as Palpatine said it best "I do not wish to rule a galaxy of the dead." Plagueis was a scientist before anything else, and no matter the field you can't share results and developments if everyone is dead.

There's the theory that the Death Star being able to wipe planets --> Discount Ritual of Nathema by feeding off the resulting dark side energies of all the people dying?

I always thought that in canon the Geonosians came up with Death Star

I just finished the Plagueis novel. Holy crap that was good. Disney needs to re-canonize the entire novel, as well as the connect works: Maul Lockdown, the 2000 Darth Maul comic, and Darth Maul Shadow Hunter, then either make all 4 stories into a movie trilogy, 2 separate shows that cross over, or one BIG long show. Change a few particulars, and bring them in line with the current canon, like how Sidious found Maul, Maul being Mother Talzin's ACTUAL son, etc. Disney, do this YESTERDAY.

If Plagueis got to use the Death Star like it was pointed out in this video. I can easily see the Force forming a response that would easily take that weapon out. I'm certain of it.

I think this is true. He would love Death Star. And this is chilling. Everything you said. Planets and galaxy. Pretty terrifying thoughts. May the Force be with you too. Have a nice day too :)

Would live to know where and what happened to the scimitar after episode 1. What happened to it after Maul used it to travel to Naboo. Why did he never search out his own ship to steal back?

Is the Death Star's destructive power truly insignificant when compared to the power of the Force itself?

Knowing how the Force can be creative when establishing balance, I agree they would have used it to challenge the Force's capability to maintain balance itself by destroying all planets strong with the light side.
It does make you wonder, if you destroy a planet with a very strong affinity for the light side, will it create an even stronger light side nexus where the world once was? How would the force lash back against the Sith (this time)? Would it be able to bring an effect within the living kyber crystal powering the Death Star's weapon in order to destroy it? Could the Force itself, be even more creative?

Yeah, I have to say I agree with this. The technical-minded likes of Plagueis and Tenebrous would have loved the Death Star, and it's ability to "get rid of problems". I'd say it's actually slightly beneficial that Sidious specifically had the mindset of wanting to rule an empire, and not one of the dead.

So, I had a vaguely related thought. Other episodes on this channel have discussed how, regardless of the fact that there is a Dark Side, and it's SUPPOSED to exist, the Force itself doesn't like the Sith; its avatars of the Dark Side, and we have even seen the Force snap back against the likes of Plagueis, when he seemingly overstepped his bounds, and it acted to try and limit the consequences of what he did.

In this way, would the Force, whether the Dark Side, or the whole of it, have actually ALLOWED Plagueis to master immortality, as he sought it? There were things one could do, that Damask didn't favor, but even essence transfer, and some limited body manipulation, were merely stop gaps to literally not dying. We talk about if Plagueis had gad a little more time, he'd have been immortal, but is that true? COULD he have grappled with the Force successfully, and achieved his lofty goal, or would the Force itself have done something to intervene? Maybe it did; it whispered to Sidious to kill him, and Sidious didn't know everything Plagueis knew, so even being similarly obsessed with eternal life, the Emperor wasn't going to achieve that goal readily. Still, when the Sith Lords tried to actually bend the Force, it retaliated. Would it here?

I wish they would either do a series or movie about the sith...specifically Darth Plagueis The Wise and his story when he and Palpatine were together teacher and student.
