Between two fires was my favorite book for all of 2024!

I wouldn't call it a horror, per se, though, but rather a medieval fantasy fiction with several thriller/scary elements. Either way I looooved it

I listened to NOS4A2 on audible after it popped up on tik tok and it was my favourite book of the year… glad you mentioned it! I’ll take your other recs now

Just found your channel 'cause i'm looking for recommendations for this year and it was great to find out you enjoyed Tender is the Flesh as much as I did! definitely a scary point of view of what society can normalize when a situation "forces us" to strip us from our morals.

You read some great stuff this year! Dracula and The Long Walk are a couple of my all-time favorite horror books. I’m definitely planning to read Nos4a2 this year. And I also want to get into folk horror literature this year, so I might have to check out Starve Acre too! Happy New Year!

Read Tender is the Flesh last year as my book club's very first read and it was such a great choice. Loved that book. Also The Troop is 1 of my favorite reads of the year also. Crazy book omg

This year was the 50th anniversary of The Rats by James Herbert. I read it again and loved it again. My number one horrorbook in 2024.
The Long Walk is one of my favorite books of all time and I'm really happy to see it in a top 10 video! Keep the lists coming lord Crizzy!

Awesome video! Loved The Road and definitely want to read more Cormac McCarthy. He wrote The Long Walk as a student, crazy! The particularly disturbing thing for me about Tender Is The Flesh was the tastings, Hope you have happy holidays.

Loved this list! I’ve had a few of these on my TBR for a bit so good encouragement to get to them. I would definitely recommend Little Heaven by Nick Cutter! Maybe it’s because I’m in New Mexico but it’s probably my favorite book of his. So disturbing and scary and beautiful.

Good video, I added two from it to my want list. Cunning Folk (folk horror witchery) by Adam Nevill and Phantoms (monster horror) by Dean Koontz were my favorite horrors from this year and Dracula; prince of many faces, his life and times by Radu R Florescu and Raymond McNally was a great nonfiction about where our favorite Count got his namesake. 🦇🦇🦇🎉

I read The Long Walk this year also, and it’s one of my favorites of 24. It took me off guard how good it was. I just picked up some of these off the list. I would also recommend this one back to you : Lost Man’s Lane Scott Carson. I’m reading right now and it’s sneaking into my top 5 end of year list. Happy reading !

I highly, highly recommend “Brother” by Ania Ahlborn. It’s probably my favorite book of 2024. I guarantee you will never ever forget it. I also read Seed by the same author. Not for the faint of heart. But since you liked Tender is the Flesh, you will be okay.

I love the list. Most of it I've read and they all deserve the best spots. I'll have to check out The Long Walk - looks interesting :)

The Deep by Nick Cutter is also great. The claustrophobia feels is screaming in that book. ❤

Oh man, I read The Troop this year. And then, in keeping with the nature/survival horror vibe, I followed it up with The Ruins by Scott Smith.

Loved both, but the absolutely relentless pacing of The Ruins gave it the edge for me. Definitely check it out if you haven’t read it yet!

N0S4A2 was a masterpiece and The long walk is in my top 10 books out of the 1000 I’ve read. So good.

Have you read The Deep by Nick Cutter? That's probably the scariest thing I've read in a long time. Very oppressive and atmospheric, "the thing" vibes

I also read Mexican Gothic this year which was a great redux of the classic Victorian haunted house story, but with a really cool twist. I'm reading The Salt Grows Heavy right now and the writing is so gruesome and evocative, big fan so far

Love your recs! I've been hesitant to read Joe Hill because I wasn't a fan of one of his short story anthologies but maybe I should give another go. Starve Acre sounds great!
