I listen to Audiobooks to stay engaged while I drive. I picked up "The Exorcist" to kick off spooky season. It's the only Audiobook I finished in a day. I sat in a chair and was totally enthralled. I truly loved his narration.

Great video! I appreciate your insight into horror as it's not something I generally read but I am wanting to pick one up for the season. I'll definitely be getting at least one of these!

I recommend The Only Good Indians to everyone who asks me about newer horror literature. It handles dread and subversion so incredibly well and does so with a nuance and style only Stephen can invoke. Cool to see it made your top ten!

i like the conversational feel of your descriptions for each book, it feels like i’m listening to a friend tell me about a book they loved. i prefer it to the more typical formal reviews that i’ve found on booktube :) i own a copy of IT that i haven’t yet read—i guess this is my sign to pick it up!

Great list!
Couldn't agree more with you on Salems Lot. My favorite Stephen king book of all time!
That books has so much subtle, creepy horror in it
I love how it builds slowly. After awhile the town just becomes dead
Businesses shut down, no one on the streets any more, people are gone...

The Blackwater Saga by Michael McDowell is my favorite. You should give it a read. The audiobook is really good.

Subscribed. On the fact that you recommended Tananarive Due. Who's someone who doesn't get her flowers. She's up there in my top 5 favorite author. Appreciate the list of books, I've added a few to my TBR. Thanks!😊

Amazing list! All the good Indians, NS4A2 and last house… are all on my top ten. I’d add carrion comfort and a ghost story as well.

Awesome list! Michael McDowell is one of my favorite authors. NOS4A2 is in my top 10, definitely the best of Joe Hill. Swan Song is number one on my list, great choice. IT got me into horror and was the first Stephen King book I ever read. I've just re-read Salem's Lot- a horror masterpiece. Great video!

The Exorcist and The Amityville Horror were the only 2 books that had me sleeping with the lights on.

"That one scene" is the BEST chapter in an otherwise over-rated writer.

I like your picks!! (I have most of these 🤗). I LOVED The Last House on Needless Street. So good. I just finished Salem's Lot and was sad it was over. Have you read The Dead Zone by SK? It's my fave. Nice video. Thanks! *SUBSCRIBED*

I really liked NOS4ATU. I started reading it before I knew Joe Hill is Stephen King's son. I thought, "this author must be a big fan of Stephen King!" It reminded me a lot of Stephen King - in a good way. Salem's Lot was the first Stephen King book I ever read, in my early teens. It has been a long time. I need to read it again.
