Hey what screws would you recommend for the flange to attach it to the wall? For the halex, you used the screws that came with the countertop?

This is awesome. I just ordered white countertops for kids desk. Figured they would be more durable. I was trying to figure out what else to do rather than have them on top of Alex drawers. This is perfect!

Thanks, man. We were able to pull something similar off for our laundry room/mudroom in our 1950’s cape cod. Only problem was that we forgot that the floor isn’t level lol. So, now our butcher block will have to be a bit unleveled just so it doesn’t stand out as much.

I want to create a floating corner desk (into brick walls, not studs) but my carpenter is concerned that, doing it your way, the metal support bars will, over time, start to come away from the walls from the weight of the computers on the desk and people leaning on it. Has this happened for you?

Do you think it would be possible to put a hinge on this to be able to fold up to create more space at times?

How much load can you put on the table? I fear my 6 year old would climb on it, if I make one.

Excellent idea!. Sometimes the simplest is the best. But, what about the resistance? How much weight would a desk like that support? Do you feel it solid or tremble when writing? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Was there any concern on weight limit on the desks?

How well are these holding up to the weight of the counter tops? I was thinking about doing something similar to this in a room but using 2 and making a floating L desk in the corner for our two computer set ups.

super cool. If i were to do something similar in an apartment, would it be easy to patch the holes afterward or do you not recommend it?

What color danish oil did you use? Did you sand it down first or did you just apply the oil to the wood out of the box? Thanks!
