DIY Floating Desk Build (Ikea Hack)

This was my build of the custom floating desks for my home office. I could not find anything in stores that I liked, so I decided to make my own. This was a great space saving option, because the desk is completely off of the floor. Great option for a home office or kids room.

The desk tops are from Ikea and the legs are made from 1x4 lumber. The total cost of each desk was only $15.

I do have to ask one question. With your apparent skills with wood why would you not just make your own tops out of real wood rather than using Ikea tops?

This wont be very strong you should never screw into the grain on the ends. Must be screwed across the grain not with it .Also wood glue and screws should be used. Don't get me wrong looks great but not strong.
