It's going to be tough deciding which flavour of corporate lobbyists to vote for in the next election

Wes Streeting accepted £15, 000 from a donor with huge interests in privatised health care. The Electoral Commission’s register of donations shows that Streeting reported the receipt in January 2022 of the donation from John Armitage, a hedge fund founder and manager who has given over £3 million to the Tories. According to the HedgeFollow site, among its almost £19bn of investments, Armitage’s fund owns shares worth almost £834m in UnitedHealth (UH), a vast US private health corporation. Simon Stevens previously Chief Executive of the NHS, was an employee United Health.

And starmer is fine with this. Sacked an MP for standing on a picket line, but this is absolutely fine.

The Labour Party is looking increasingly like the Tory party !

Wes Streeting is living his life as a weird Keir Starmer cosplay. A labour MP, Jesus wept.

It's videos like this that crush any hope we had in Labour to turn things around .

It's hard to see how Britain can overcome corporate greed and institutionalized corruption and start actually improving the country for its citizens.

Wes Streeting took £15k from John Armitage, a shareholder in UnitedHealth, a US private health corporation.

I'm a GP. I've recently had to transport a patient in my own vehicle to admit them, as an emergency, to hospital as the ambulance service advised us they would not be attending for 14 hours. This was outside of my working hours. "Something for nothing", that's what I did, taking personal professional and legal risk in a patient's best interest due to funding shortfalls. Do I continue to vote Labour?

It’s a crime that we don’t get a real left option.

I absolutely boils my piss when any politician says that they “understand what it’s like for healthcare staff” because they fucking don’t unless they’ve worked there recently.

i have United Health in the U.S. I got a letter the other day approving treatment for my incurable disease! Gee, nice of them to agree to what my doctor says is what I need. And if they hadn't approved? Then I would have had to pay all costs myself or try to find another treatment that they did approve! Oh, and I owe $3, 000 to my local hospital for some tests that insurance didn't cover.

This is Wes trying to sound really hard and sounding like a presumptuous fifth former. Like so many of his colleagues these days, he thinks that provocative and judgemental comments like this will help them to curry favour with the Daily Heil It's a bit like Starmer's dishonesty over Brexit and the laughable idea that he can make it work. Out Torying the Tories is the name of the game..!

Maybe they should ban lobbying from outside intrests on MPS and make it illegal for any MP to lobby for there own gains.

Highly suspicious he doesn't specify what "reforms" he wants to make the NHS more efficient. If it's the case that there are problems with the organization of the NHS that aren't just caused by lack of funding, but those reforms should be named specifically and addressed by restructuring the system, not handing it over to the private sector on the logic that everything a private company does is magically more efficient.

I love the NHS but I’ve got a great job as a medical specialist in Australia and I have no choice but to go, because many of my colleagues and I are burnt out!

But the UK MSM love him.
He has put me off Labour more than Keir Starmer. How are these creeps in the labour party at all?

I worked in the NHS for 20 years. Streeting has no idea!!!

Paying healthcare workers a wage they can actually live on is not a reason to demand more from them. A decent wage would discourage people from leaving the NHS and keep the service from crumbling further

Streeting may as well be in Sunaks government at this point.
