Nissan titan grinding noise

Bad news for me and my truck.....

That sounds like your driveshaft to me. Lift your truck high enough to spin the wheel with your hand. Look at the drive shaft as it spins. It'll be obvious if it's a bad u joint. Could also be the wheel hub bearing. See if there is any play in your wheels. Or grinding noises as you spin the wheels. Usually they go bad one at a time so you'll have to check each wheel. But even tho only one of them goes bad, you should still change both or all of them. It's really only necessary to do the one across from your bad one. My front driver side hub bearing imploded while driving and the wheel almost fell off. I changed the wheel hub and it drove fine afterwards. Until about a month later when the FRONT PASSENGER wheel hub imploded same way the other one did. That's why you need to change them both. Driving on a brand new bearing puts more stress on the other bearing.

I’m having the same issue but took my titan to the dealer they think it’s a u joint and center barring that holds the drive shaft has lots of play so I’m hoping it’s just that will post a follow up

Just happened to my nana and I drove down in the highway and that happened drive down a road to get to are destination and at a 4 way stop it flew off the drive shaft

Front axle differential is bad or matbe just be Axle or could me the axle and defferential carrier
Or ad bad bushing in your deive shat leaving it lose to bang around

I did one today same sound. It was a broken king pin. It snaps 3/4 off the king pin. The half that's not being held by the role pin..is trying to leave but is getting chewed by the pinion gear

Sound like Parking Brake Pads came off

Mines having this same sound issue but in the rear and just happened today. my Slip and ABS light is on. It sucks!! Ha

That's what's mine is doing now in fact I can't drive it what was the problem, I had to walk home

thats not a grinding noise lol. thats a piece falling off thumping sounds lol

It ended up being the front wheel bearings going. I ended up replacing both front wheel hubs and problem solved.
