FYI, if you think only the rotor is moving I hope YOU are not a professional mechanic.

If the STUDS move WITH the rotor, it's the HUB assembly, if only the rotor, it's normal

If your rotor is moving like that most likely a bad wheel bearing

Be prepared for a sharp right turn next time you hit the brake... your left rotor has cracked away from the mounting surface

The rotors have something call... "Rotor Screw".
And what it does is to hold the rotor with the bearing itself if it doesn't have it, that could be oke reason or if it does have it than its the bearing

floating rotors will move like that not having any weight on em

It’s not going to get cheaper? Just what a mechanic would say to drag me in to spend my money.

I would imagine that the hub had been "talking" for quite awhile and not just yesterday.

Thank you! It has been driving us nuts for weeks!!!

The only part moving is the rotor, and that will always happen unless the wheel is on with the lugs...And people that don't know any better will think they have a problem because of this video.

It was making a grinding noise when I come to a stop I changed my rotors and breaks and still making that sound after a month went to 3 different mechanics no one knows they just said replace them again and there not even a month old on the rotors any idea ?

I love when car people say the more you ride on it the worst it gets like I’m sorry I can’t afford not to go to work. The only way the problem gets fix is if I mess something up because I gotta keep on going to work.

More driving makes it a LOT easier to find.

I replaced a rear wheel bearing and the rotors to go with it, but pitting the caliper back was a challenge, but the same squeaking noise came back, so I wonder if the wheel bearing and caliper were both bad

My rear driver side one is going probably need diff fluid change too, but you know it’s bad when it gets very loud right? I only hear a faint whirling crank and or hissing noise like it’s not loud at all yet.

If my hubs bad, its bad. Now it might put some additional strain on suspension components on that side, but for the most part all you're going to be replacing is the hub assembly. If its real bad you may have unevenwear on tires and pads, and potentially rotors. Ask me how I know, Ive driven way longer than I should have on a bad wheel bearing

There's weird grinding (maybe, idk how to call this sound) sound when i turn the wheels when stationary, or if i move forward by 1mph but slowly holding breaks, it does the same sound

The disc is broken! The braking surface has seperated from the mounting plate.

Mine is actually currently making a extremely loud and aggressive sounding screaming and screeching sound from my rear wheel area which worsens when going around a turn and has a rotating sound it's definitely something that's going around and around at the rear wheel area I'm assuming it's a worn out bearing and or caliper hopefully it's the bearing lol I'm replacing all the caliper and bearing regardless my rotor has almost an inch of play when you push n pull it it's has major play for certain
