I've been practicing all winter on a golf mat and just began realizing exactly what you're explaining in the video recently. This video is so helpful to try and help improve ball striking on the mat. Thanks for your help!

Thanks Chris ! Great answer, great tips. And, you know what, I do have a tee peg :)
I love the idea of working on skills and with feedbacks. Seems to definitely be the best and quickest way to make progress. Even being able to miss or touch the tee peg on purpose will mean our brain will be able to help us doing the right move on the course. (By the way, weather is not better in northern France 😂)

Interesting to hear the difference in sound between the two different strikes.

This is very good. My 9-year-old daughter usually hits flush shots in her good days even she tends to fire the torso early and get the club stuck behind a bit. In her bad days, however, when her swing is off she would hit fat shots. Now, for example, how to avoid fat shots by shifting the low point to the target side for a junior who tends to have the club stuck (i.e. the chest opens too early in the downswing)?

Also, in correcting the stuck behind issue, her hands would try to catch up the pace resulting over the top cutting across the ball and cause a lot of fade spin.

She is the runner up in last year's Kids Golf World Championship at Pinehurst in girls age 8 with one under par score after three rounds. We have had several instructors over the past 4 years (will also hire a PGA professional from the States next month). But the stuck behind issue is really a pain that haunts further progress and creates unnecessary problems. Golf is the most frustrating sport, isn't it.

Thank you, Chris. You are the best, considering setting up a branch academy in Asia down the road? Ha ha, cheers.

Exactly what I was looking for.
BTW, finally got a video of my terrible swing. Can't wait to see your reply. Cheers, Chris! Thanks so much for these!

I don't use the tee peg, but always focus on that forward point when on mats. Great drills!

Chris. Thanks for this. I fond what is helpful is equally to focus on posture. And looking at some evidence from athletic motion it seems that being more vertical at impact helps rather than leaning back or slightly left in my case (being left handed) or leaning forward.

Like the tee peg tip. Good Stuff Chris.

A further point I found useful to get this right is that if one practices and gets good at short punch shots - something I enjoy doing- then the posture and angle of attack is pretty much right except for a longer backswing and follow through. Be good to get your views on this.
