Thanks. I bought SE - this is my first drone and I agree with your assessment. It is suitable for non-extreme filming and can replace a tripod and camera crane. I think 2.7K will be enough for me for the near future. And in terms of efficiency, the Mini is very good. I think this direction of drones will develop.

Very solid review! I like how you point out the strong points of the mini 2 without bashing on the other versions. I just wish they had included the better signal transmission to the SE. Other than that it would be absolutely sufficient to me in the below 250g class. I even believe it would not have hurt the sales of the mini2 as many people just want 4K. While it does look better, honestly 2.7K still looks amazing and it’s not the higher resolution that makes a great video.

Your “Trail” you’re talking about can be adjusted in your settings, (and I believe) advanced gimbal settings, and where you change your yaw response and gimbal rotation speed… I know that’s where it is in my Mini 2… Idk about the Mini or the se…

Oddly enough, The trailing issue that you mention can be easily fixed by adjusting the Gimble setting. By increasing the number from 0-100 or 0-10 your drone becomes more responsive and with the correct setting, the drone can come to a full stop on a dime or a rolling smooth start. I guess it depends on what you are using it for, filming or fun.

Great comparison Dan; I have also had the 3 x Drones and did some testing however focused on the Video quality; after looking at the 2.7k shot on the SE, there is no doubt the camera has been tweaked !; I believe (for different reasons) its actually better than the 4K Mini 2, probably due to some over sharpening of the image; I also compared it to the Air 2 and it holds up pretty well ! Keep the comparisons coming !!!

Greetings from Oaxaca, MExico, i have the Mini 1, and i think both grill holes on SE and Mini 2, is not necessarily better, cuz on practice, they vacuum dust particles inside, and many of pilots like me use this marvelous drone on earth, woods, beaches etc, .As long as this unit does not overheat, there will never be a problem with the ventilation.

Good video! Am contemplating between the mini se and the mini 2 and am leaning towards the mini 2 atm. Mini 2 gets a bit expensive with the combo but I reckon the combo is more worth it than just the basic set

Sounds like the SE if buyer is on a budget, or the Mini 2 if they want the very best under 250g drone. I have the Mini 2 myself, got earlier this year and love it!

I definitely love the Mini 2 but if I didnt have it and I'm on a tighter budget, I wouldn't mind getting the Mini SE.

I am still in the process in choosing but i would go for the SE since I’m on a tight budget but also i have no experience flying drones. I’m planning to keep on practicing with the SE and then when i feel more comfortable i can switch to higher models…My question is, what would happen if i lost connection with the SE? Would the drone return to it’s home base?
