All DJI drones are Wifi drones I understand. They all use either a frequency channel within either the 2.4GHz band or the 5.8GHz band. The ocusync is just a method to monitor rf interference and implement a protocol I think to effectively do a seamless handshake and jump to a define channel.

I traded up from the original Mini to the Mini 2 Phillip. I haven't got the new Mini 2 yet but I hope it'll be here soon! If I had known DJI was working on a Mini 2 I would never have ordered the original last January! I didn't have good connection with the original either, and its performance in just a slight breeze was iffy! The two main bonuses I see of the Mini 2 over the original is being able to shoot JPEG + RAW images and having OccuSync 2! Although I would've appreciated a choice between RAW or JPEG, not both. I came to drones with a photography background so the added feature of RAW on the Mini 2 is a welcome addition! (Always enjoy watching you manhandle your drones to see if you accidentally trash one!!)

@Phillip Skraba - please check your raw 4k videos (otdoors mostly where there is more light) and check the top left corner - you will find what i believe its a mass defect for Mini 2 i have tested that and looked at a dozen youtubers videos with mini2 and all we have is the same strange artifact which is in yellowish color - look carefully.
Thats a problem and Dji needs to fix that - i have looked at videos from people in various countries - hopefully you can see the same ( i have checked some your videos and its there)..
Look at 3:43 in this video - top left corner in a bigger screen.

I actually prefer the portability form factor of the original controller as it just slides in all my pockets when I travel everywhere

Have you ever had a problem with the video transmission to your phone after switching on a record button?
After recording 2-3 short clips next time I switch on a record button I've got a video freezing on my phone for 10-30 seconds. Everything else works fine without warnings. But the picture is frozen. After 10-30 seconds of the recording is switched on it came back and works fine.

Hi Phillip, I know you've been getting asked these questions before, but now I see an even lower price and I really am not sure what to do. There is a deal on eBay right now for a Mini with Fly More combo for $214.99, and everywhere else I look there is no Mini 2's for anywhere near as low as that price. I am aware that the Mini 2 is significantly better, but I am weighing which one is the better value because it sure would be nice pay half the price of a new one! In your opinion, which do you think is the better option? (FlyMore Mini for $215 or new Non-FlyMore Mini 2 for $450)

Landing in funny places will update the Home Point... that means that if something will go wrong, the M2 will go to the funny place Home Point.
Can you disable the automatic HP update?

I think the Mavic Mini set the scene for a great portable flycam - is still great for family trips and point & shoot in short range - but the Mini 2 is all that and then some - much more!

I'm bummed cause I bought my mini in June and mini 2 came out. If mini 2 came with follow mode I would jump on it, but looking at mavic air instead
