The other day someone called me a psychopath, I haven't responded to them so far, but that's okay I can get back to them anytime, they're still down in the pit.

My mother was diagnosed with psychopathy. She had some of these traits but not all. She mostly wanted to do the right thing in the outside world because that was “logical” but she was a very abusive mother with 0 empathy for my sister and I. It was very confusing and I’m still realizing the depth of the insanity I went through as a child because this was my mother. Thank you for making this video.

In my experience psychopaths are usually all smiles, successful, and popular. People who are NEVER in a bad mood, scare me.

The first sign is probably when someone turns in their chair to introduce a topic of conversation lol.

My ex-wife was diagnosed as a narcissistic sociopath. I was lucky to get out of that relationship physically unscathed. She completely destroyed my life in every other way.

The worst possible feeling is being someone who constantly overthinks and questions your own sanity and morality only to be gaslighted by someone.

Being raised by a psychopath (my mother) was an interesting and very dysfunctional ride. I have done extensive reading in my adult life on the subject of ASPD to learn tools of dealing with her, and have been somewhat successful in setting up boundaries as an adult that I lacked as a child. She is a good person, who tries to do the right things, but it is clear that in her mind ahe is the center of everything in the world, and that to her, no one is capible of understanding her, or being as important as her.

Even with boundries set up over many years now, it is truly impressive the skill in manipulation a true psychopath has, and how often I fall into old patterns without realizing it.

People with ASPD are still people, who (for the most part) want to be good, they just don't know how, and it is really important that you don't end up sacrificing yourself to try and teach them. Helping is okay, as long as you yourself are not being lost in the process.

"Do you hate disabled people, now? Have you looked in the mirror? You're one to judge."😂 that was legit hilarious! Nice script this time.

I was diagnosed as a high functioning sociopaths. Similar but not the same. And I can tell you from my own experience, that if someone is too care free about everything, is too kind, is all smiles, but never angry out in public, but angry in private, seems too good to be true. Best to stay away, unless you feel confident in protecting yourself.

Plot twist: the mendota centre has a 34% success rate at teaching psychopaths to not get caught for their crimes.

it's weird how a lot of those psychopath symptoms are the same as ADHD symptoms. prone to boredom, poor behavior control, early behavior problems, lack of realistic long term goals, impulsivity, irresponsibility, marriage problems, and juvenile delinquency are all common in adhders. this goes to show why you need a real mental health professional to diagnose these things

It was interesting that positive reinforcement was so effective with teenagers who showed psychopathic tendencies. It kind of ties back to what you said earlier about them having super charged dopamine centers. Rewarding for good behavior trains their brains that the best way to get dopamine highs is to do good. And since that dopamine high is so important for psychopaths, you're really demonstrating to them that its in their selfish best interest to do good. In the real world that is likely to continue reinforcing that trend since doing good for other people tends to lead to more good and therefore greater rewards.

When you read this, you need to be aware that I have GAD (generalized anxiety dissorder), and fairly severe at that. I had a customer that turned out to be a psychopath. I did the accounting for his bussines, and when I detected something that added up to financial crime, I told them they had to find someone else. And I told the dude why. I also did what the law here in Sweden requier of accountants and reported the customer to the law enforcement dudes. This resulted in me and my wife recieving death threats and the company owner comming home to us to "reason with me" with the help of some edge tools (knife). In the end, I cracked and ended up at home to mentally sick to work. That in turn resulted in my business going under. The upside? Everyone - from authorities to other customers to the bank where our mortgage are was super nice and super understanding when I showed them the reason why I got a meltdown and went sick. I got a lot of help to get back to a working life, and we didnt need to sell our home. Oh, the bloody psychopath? He ended up in prison for a lot of reasons, and he lost basically everything he ever had. I think he is out now, but I know for a fact that he is forbidden to have any roll in a company board or even try to run any type of business again for what is basically life. It has been a little hell for me and my wife, but in the end justice and the law enforcment worked.

The decompression model honestly is one of the most effective ways to treat offenders from what I've read, I forget which scandinavian county ( probably norway ) uses this and have one of the highest rates of turn around in behavior of prison systems

I’m a bit of a sociopath. I’ve been working on it for most of my adult life and have had some success at becoming more empathetic.

"You should play with other people's lives" "Have fun" "Take advantage of them" "it is normal".
"In the end, it is NOT your fault that they believe your lies".
A psychopath once gave me Scary!
