Probably the first time they got all the orders right.

"Aren't you a little young to be running a mcdonalds?"

"Yes. Yes I am."

That's what happens in a society where employers ask for 10+ years of experience for young graduates 🤣

"The ten year olds were the children of the Night Manager."

Seriously ... who did *NOT* see that coming?

These kids will be every prospective employer's dream... 10 years of experience upon entering the workforce for the first time 💀

I think it's good that 10 years olds do chores, but running the deep fryer at 2am? 😱😱😱

It’s upsetting that a huge chain let it slip under the rug for so long. The mother couldn’t afford childcare even when working long hours, and those children missed out on hours of play and studying due to adult circumstance. Those children are such hard workers and giving, I hope they get the supports they need to help them thrive because that work ethic is rare.

Even though they're 10, not paying them at a workplace for working should be considered a serious crime.

The amount of people that commented, but obviously didn't take the time to even listen to the 30-minute clip. My heart goes out to the night manager who probably can't afford late night babysitting, but maybe having your kid operate a deep fryer isn't the right answer either.

When 10 year old has more work ethics than 20 something year old

I worked at McDonald’s for 2 years…this shit doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. They have absolutely no morals and don’t care about putting their underaged workers in danger. I remember there were several pedophiles who were regulars and knew they could get away with harassing and ogling the underaged little girls who worked there. I’d constantly complain on behalf of the teenage girls and let management know they were really uncomfortable, but the response I got was, ”Well they’re a paying customer and have every right to be here.” 😤😤😤

back home in China, I helped my father loading the truck with small goods when I was around 10, I was not forced to do it, my father simply asked me and I was willing to help. I knew that he tried hard to put food on the table for me and my brother, so I wanted to help him. Throughout my teenager years me and my brother helped him more than dozen of times. in those years I learnt the value of hard work, it shape me into the man I am today and I am proud of my work ethics.
however I think in this case it has pushed beyond the limit, no kids should be up at 2am and running a frying machine. this is unsafe labor.

I do believe that kids should be allowed to work, but…

-10 is really young.

-2am is unacceptable.

-proper compensation is a must.

to the people saying good job about the kids, they were not being paid and would probably get in trouble at home if they don't listen to their manager/parent. I didn't get my first job until I was almost 19 and I still run circles around most people, if you were raised right then you don't need to be working at 10 to be respectful and a good worker.

I worked with my parents as a grave yard janitor. We helped them with many accounts they had & cleaned movie theaters banks, mall stores, bars etc. I was 8 & my brothers & sisters were all under 14 yrs old. We just helped throw away trash & mop & clean counter tops. It was fun for us back then in the late 80's. It instilled work ethic & taught me slot about doing a good job. Even if you're a janitor. I later worked at McDonald's at age 15, I loved it & cried when I left for an surface mount tech job. This mother shouldn't have let her kids that young use those dangerous fryers thoughnor any other hot surface kitchen appliances at her job. McDonald's needs to pay their workers better so that they have enough people applying & ensure enough staff.

I like how the reasoning for child labor is “to instill responsibility”. As if they aren’t telling on themselves for instilling irresponsibility into their kids at home.

Had a coworker at my old work who would sometimes bring her kid in with her. There was only ever one person on staff at a time. One time I came in on my day off and the kid was in the back cooler stocking drinks *in the beer cave*
I was like "you know she's not allowed back there" but she was like "it's fine. It's not hurting anyone"
Another time I came in on a day off to find the kid literally managing the register while her mom was in the bathroom. Literally selling grown adults cigarettes and shit.
Hate to see people like this. It makes my blood boil.

Always love when a multi-billion dollar company/manager’s answer to employees asking for living wage is to hire actual 10yo’s and also not pay them.

The really sad thing is I bet they could get my order right.

The amount of people in this comment section who are perfectly ok with this situation is scary.
