Nintendo probably added these creepier elements because they knew that by this point in the series, animal crossing was played by teenagers and adults as well as children, and they wanted to add some spooky surprises to appeal to older audiences.
But that's just my theory.

I've never played New Horizons, but I hear there's something creepy about the paintings that Redd sells you. Their eyes watch you.

What scared me and made me question if I was crazy or not was way back in OG Animal Crossing when sailing with Kapp'n to the island there's a very, very small chance of a massive whale shadow appearing beneath you.

Wait! What about Redds paintings. The creepy smiles that they slowly put on still gives me chills!

I think you should have added the Aieka Village. Because I have seen people visit that Dream town in New Leaf and people were terrified by the aesthetic.

Should've saved this for Halloween 🤣

Regardless this is still a fun treat to watch

I think the faceless thing is the creepiest thing because you lose everything including your face and some villagers have got MISSING 😢

What's even creepier is that the video was concluded without an outro.

“Human-like skull”
That’s… not a human

Huh, this was very interesting, i wonder if any of this is supposed to Canon?
Also, that was a quite abrupt ending to this Video.

Why don’t you do that with Nintendo characters: Scary to scariest? Featuring:
The Moon from Majora’s Mask.
Andross as he appears in all of the games (except Star Fox 1 and 2) he appears.
The Mad Piano from Mario 64.
Zero and Zero 2 from Kirby.
The Shadow Queen from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
Mimi from Super Paper Mario.
