I remember taking pride in knowing I had helped knock down a blissey 10 gym. And the satisfaction of seeing your Pokémon at the top Guarded with Blisseys. Back when gym control MEANT something lol

Oh I still remember the footprints and old gym system! They were so frustrating

the footstep feature is technically still in the game, it sometimes pops up if the connection is bad and gives it to you instead of pokestops but only for a split second.

The old system was better and more competitive. The only problem was 10 Blisseys. The old system + only 1 Pokémon species of each is imo the best combination

For the first like month that Pokémon Go existed and had the footprint feature, that tracking system was so much fun. Being able to actively see how close you were getting and running around in circles to try to find the Mon was just the best.

ah i remember these things on 2016, also we were able to get 100 poke coins per day if u captured 10 gyms.

Never forget when group of 5 would have 2/3 always out of server cause it was full

Should be allowed to put legendaries in gyms as defenders, maybe just limit one per gym. Would be fun

It's a good thing the Gym System got revamped. Trying find a gym without a team full Blissey was such a headache. I wish they fixed the footprint system rather than hiding it though.

Ngl i would bring back the old gym but mix it with the new one, have up to 10 pokemon in a gym but no repeating ones. Cuz most times, 6 pokemon ain't enough, there's been thousands of times where i need coins but all the gyms in my area are my team's but they're full

They also removed Vaporeon from their throne at the top of Pokémon GO. Only OGs remember when Jolteon and Electabuzz were legitimately good just because they were decent counters to Vaporeon
