Do you mask your ADHD?
ADHD masking is hiding or adapting your ADHD-related traits and challenges to conform to societal expectations.
🚀 Many with ADHD adapt to fit in, but let’s explore how:
1️⃣ Hyperactivity Concealment: Masking inner restlessness to appear calm. We do this to fit in.
2️⃣ Excessive Planning: We overcompensate by overplanning to counteract impulsivity. This is driven by the need for control.
3️⃣ Overcompensation with Hyperfocus: We use intense focus to things bigger and better than necessary. We do this to prove capability.
🔓 Overcoming masking involves self-acceptance and leveraging ADHD strengths.
Embrace authenticity, set achievable goals, and practice self-compassion.
Let’s thrive as our true selves! 💪

I live in tropical 🏝️ Cleveland, Ohio with my beautiful wife Andrea, and our three adorable children, Ethan, Lyla, and Shane.
I earned my coaching certification through the Attention Deficit Disorder Coaching Association (ADDCA), which is focused on educating brains like ours. ADDCA is a coaching certification program accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), which is the “gold standard” for the coaching industry.
