I would love to hear her thoughts on this issue. Hopefully there’s an interview somewhere where she gets to ACTUALLY TALK.

Jillian Michaels is the real deal. Her old fashioned 'diet and exercise' approach to not only fitness but life, makes me respect her all the more. She cares about helping people get healthier.

Bill appreciates his voice over the point of the question his guest is making.
You don't need to be a good interviewer, just be polite, then the listeners will get to hear the point.

Is Bill Maher capable of "not interrupting" his guests?

I'm hoping to buck the trend. I was on Ozempic for 8 months. I lost nearly 40lbs. I went from being obese to overweight. I never used more than 60% of the full dose before I started to back off Ozempic. I have gained some of the weight back. This makes me a little nervous, but, traditionally, I've lost weight in the spring and spring is almost here. (thankfully half the weight gain is muscle). So, I'm hopeful that in a couple of weeks I can reverse this and actually get down to a healthy weight. Oh, the only side effect I had was additional burping.
I will say this, Ozempic is a miracle drug. I never would have lost those 40lbs in that time period. I used Ozempic as jet fuel to an exercise and diet change. If I cannot do it on my own, I'll trying going back on, but at an even lower dosage.

I tried Wegovy and it was amazing for my insulin resistance. But by the third shot I experienced stomach paralysis and was in bed for days. Unfortunately I had to stop.

I am a nobody, just a certied trainer from the Toronto area ffor the last 15 years. When I get asked about Ozempic, (clearly not a DR or someone who has a science background) however, I say that at some point you need to come off the drugs and when you do, if your eating and exercises habits haven't changed, then well, you fall back into the same unhealthy patterns. We need to change the habit loops and the way we eat and move.

I really hate when people create statistics but state them as if it’s based on thorough research.

I tried it but for the diabetes. It works but it constipated me so I had to quit 😭

This is just bulls**t. With any decrease in food intake, you will eventually stop losing weight if you do nothing else. That is true if you supplement the diet with a drug or just do it with diet alone. There is always a point where the amount you are eating is where your body settles, and you are now at the weight your body settles. Doesn't matter if you are taking a drug or not. Semaglutide significantly decreases appetite by decreasing the speed of the emptying of the stomach contents, thereby providing a "boost" in weight loss for most people. Of course it will plateau. And no, you don't have to stay on it indefinitely...you just have to maintain the habits you formed while on it. This is true of any "diet" a person undertakes. Criticizing a drug because it provides a means to accelerate the process is load a bull. Obesity is a major problem...we should be celebrating the fact that there is something available to assist in the challenge of weight loss.

I look back at this with some amusement. At this point of the interview, I was fairly impressed with her. Though, in retrospect there were clearly signs of where we were headed . Spoiler alert: Right off the tracks!😅

The frustrating thing about so many drugs that really don't help but tons of people take anyway is that the real "miracle solution" is very often just a small personal effort.

So many people on here have no clue of the psychological issues behind overeating. It’s not always about hunger. These drugs do so much more than squelch hunger they also calm down the emotional aspects of dieting. I am no longer triggered to binge my diabetes is under control. I can focus on the nutrition I need for my body to function rather than worrying about how much sugar is in a carrot.

She says it's fact and not opinion but she doesn't understand the full scope of semiglutide. It's not only helping curb people's addiction to food, it's helping people's addiction to alcohol and smoking. I was on it for four months. I lost 20 pounds (I put this weight on during the pandemic) and all I felt was a little nauseous. If you take this drug and insist on sticking to your old diet, you're going to get sick. You need to let the drug do its job and listen to the nausea and stop eating through it or yes, you're going to get sick. This drug is a miracle cure and it's going to keep getting flack because it's popular to attack it.
