I can believe Cracker Barrel's story being a vague way of avoiding humiliating her by saying it was a hygiene issue. Back when I was in severe depression, I stopped bathing almost entirely and was fired from a job over it. They agreed to just say I had opted to leave on mental health grounds on my dismissal paperwork.

The lifeboat was abandoned, and the passengers were airlifted by chopper.

Sask viewer here 👋 Mikayla Bali and her disappearance is still discussed widely around the province. It's personally been one of the most harrowing and disturbing cases I've come across and has bothered me because of how close to home it was. I could totally see myself in her shoes especially because we're from similar social and geographical locations. I exposed myself to similar people and places online and am horrified by how naive I was because i was so desperate for companionship. While it's hard to keep faith, I really hope that she will be found one day.

3:00 "the phenomena must be referred to that general volcanic or earthquake force, which seems as necessary to the economy of nature as light, heat, or electricity" My take on this, people had such a complicated way of writing back then, but I think this is him trying to pass the rumbles off as just being normal earthquakes or volcanic activity. Saying that they're just a regular part of nature, dismisssing the worries of the people who were scared for their lives.
