Head & Arm Choke Counter Submission

This escape is solid and works well…the submission that follows…well, it seems a little suspect. But for some reason, it gets the tap sometimes. Do you think you’d tap to this? Give it a try first, then let me know.

My son and I were having a tough time getting the finish so we modified it in a way we feel is a little more reliable for us anyways. Check it out…Essentially once you have your arm back using your technique of the sweep reaction (which is money) instead of grabbing the outside leg we had better success turning our head and knees away from opponent, then finger walking towards the opposite elbows so your arms end up in a genie like configuration. Once you have the hug pretty tight you walk your feet away from opponent to get the tap, similar to finishing an anaconda roll but backwards since walking away. Regardless of which finishing technique you use we found turning your head away from your opponent once you have your arm back causes their head to fall deeper into your own shoulder making the choke tighter so it’s a value add either way it seems.
We never would have discovered it without your video to start with, hopefully my description was clear enough for you to try it. If you do please lmk.
We started calling it the “hug choke” from bottom, but maybe “genie choke” is a better name. If you try it and like it, name it whatever you want it belongs to you now!
Your channel is awesome btw. I share it with everyone but I feel like I’m giving up my little secret.

I personally wouldn't tap to it but I'm the best Blue Belt that's ever walked the earth so.... Standards aren't the same for the greats 😅

How do you generate power when you rock up after grabbing the leg? Because if it is all body weight, I dont think I can do this against someone with 50 lbs against me.

I see a lot of fighters in the UFC give up on this technique. It's strange that no one is practicing how to get out of it. The same Oliveira who lost to Makhachkev with that same move.

Not getting enough pressure into the leg side shoulder of the opponent when I tried this. Felt uncomfortable on the other side for him tho.

With his arm triangle he is high on knees, he should go to belly on the mat for proper pressure, for your tap?

Okay so I do this then this movement then this then I lift my leg then I do… and I’m unconscious

Does it works if he got his chest touching the floor as it should be?

This is great, but lock in, the outside ankle

Wtf Eli 😂. How far we taking this sport, I'm average at escaping side control and we're going to buggy counters out of submission defenses

I'd probably tap. But I'd eat nothing but garlic before we rolled next time.
