I purchased some NGK BPR5ES spark plugs in bulk about 8 months ago and had a few headaches along the way.

Keep in mind that there is a 7734 and a 4006 variety of the BPR5ES spark plugs. The 4006 is a solid copper core. Some Amazon sellers do not distinguish between the two when filling orders. The NGK plugs that I have remaining are the 7734 variety. All I know is; I had some bad experiences with the plugs on my own mowers and with some customers. Wasting a little money, a lot of time, and pissing off some customers.

Have you checked resistance between the bad plugs vs good plugs? Just wondering. Thanks for great videos.!

I've always used NGK and never had a problem. I've heard alot of people moaning about them recently, guess it's probably the fakes trashing their reputation. I always get genuine and they do come with a cardboard sleeve.

Here in South Africa we have similar issues with it. 2nd purchase and they crack upon removal. WTF?

Bought 2 off Amazon, got them and noticed immediately the tip was solid, not hollow and threaded like the ones used in my mower (I tend to keep 2-3 of them in my cabinet as reference when I take them out). Didnt work when installed. Im sending them back.

I buy original spark plugs for my Honda engines, and they are NGK and Denso, in my experience NGK is worse than Denso, because NGK spark plugs crack the insulator and the engine starts to work jerky, and this happens even with new spark plugs, I blame myself that maybe too hard screwed her ... I have only used Denso for cars for a long time, because my old Maserati with new NGK spark plugs didn't even want to drive, immediately lost power and did not develop maximum speed (NGK iridium)

Just bought 4 packs of BR9ES NGK plugs from Canadian Tire for my sled as back-ups. Tested them all and some of them don't spark at all, and others have a very weak spark. Pretty disappointed, these plugs used to be solid.

I have a Chinese bike Honda clone CG125-150 running original NGK D8EA spark plugs, many of these plugs are manufactured from Japan or Brazil in my case, these plugs are not as reliable as used to be, the quality control is chronically failing

One just lasted 7 months and the last one didn't last no more than 3 months, leaving me stranded just less than a mile from home

The engine started OK sometimes, needing choke and very rough and temperamental at idle after the first minute, but was showing exhaust popping after releasing the throttle or at random, the spark plug looks clean and white, correct gap at 0.8 mm, the PZ27 carburetor has been jetted right, not too lean or rich

Even my brother have the same bike model like me, he got tired of NGK Malaise plug, tried and swapped the NGK with a generic china made D8TC spark plug and the bike started after the first kick with no choke from dead stone cold and performs better than ever

Great video, I’ve heard this rumor before. Wouldn’t be a bit surprised if they’re “fake”. I use Champions, and Autolite myself. Not a fan of E-3. Too expensive.

I have never had anything good coming from NGK Plugs. I will not use them again. I use Autolite for guaranteed success. Also, I buy from auto parts stores only.

Never seen an NGK that didn't have the removable tip. May be a knock off or a lower quality version for HD. E3 plugs are unreliable based on my experience.
