I have a Bic lighter that's 22 years old. It still has gas and lights. I used to carry it in my fishing box when I'd fish with my 10yr old son. I kept it because I guess it has sentiment or just brings back memories. Every once in awhile I'll light it up just to see. 🔥

From what I heard from my Dad's time in the army they just used zippos since you can refuel em with gasoline in a pinch and they deal with wind from being outdoors better.

As long as you have flint, you can make a spark. A little cotton from your socks, or even a dandelion, you can pop a flame. Inmate knowledge.

Happened to me a few times. I started using a small zip tie in place of the orings. Spin it to use and spin back to lock out the gas trigger.
