Jamie's ladder hygiene TED talk was on point 💯

Jamie needs to have a dedicated segment where he explains the details of things. I'd listen all day !!!

I've seen you do many things with the prosthetic fingers, but flipping through those papers is the most impressive.

Pro Tip: Duct tape (or Zip Tape) the glue and cleaner cans together. Easier to carry and less chance for them to spill.

Just a quite comment about Jaime's use of his prosthetic while reviewing the windows starting at 14:35 was a real world example of the amazing technology available. Jaime you remain an inspiration, and I'm not even sure you felt like that was your prosthetic turning the pages, in your brain it's been integrated enough as a tool that you look like you feel as if it were your old finger. So dexterous! Amazing.

When Jamie was talking about the ladders I thought "Yep! Preach On Bro." Then Erik started just walking away and I laughed for a solid minute! LOL! I love this crew and this channel. To all of you, thanks for the many, many hours of free entertainment. :)

The red metal tie tool is for tying maple sugaring sap tubes to metal wires strung through the woods that funnel the sap out of the woods. Usually you’re reaching above your head to tie, so it’s best used when you can use your weight and gravity to pull it down with one hard pull. You can make quick progress once you figure it out. Much love from Vermont!

I called Sashco to ask a question about Lexell and told them I appreciated them working with you. Nice folks and very helpful.!!

I'm subscribed to Jay's channel, and I'll offer a theory on why the difference in subscriber count. Jay is the comic relief on this crew and is hilarious when he riffs off the rest of the crew. It's hard to duplicate that as the main character of a different channel.
Jay, you should try bringing in your wife or in-laws more in each video to see if that makes a difference.

I don't own a house, I can't afford to have one built, I don't work in construction. There's just something very calming about watching competent people figure out solutions to practical problems in order to build something useful.
Congrats on a Million!

I love the zip tape for your merchandise box! My wife didn't understand why I was laughing when I got the hat I ordered.

Holes should be facing down on drain pipe. With holes facing up, water level has to rise above pipe before water enters drain, which means six more inches of standing water around your foundation. Also a tendency for gravity to pull sediment down into holes and clog them if they are on top.

On my house, I did spray on tremco waterproofing, covered by dimple mat into a J drain, then I also did a 57 stone burrito with 4” corrugated slotted as a “backup” covered with about 12” of gravel, then closed up the burrito and backfilled with soil. You’ve got one shot to do it right before you backfill and add tens of thousands of dollars to repair it later, might as well do belt and suspenders approach. It’s a tiny expense in the big scheme of things. In June I had a sprinkler valve burst in a valve box just outside my foundation wall and leaked for about a day because we were on vacation, my father in law came by the house to check on it and heard the water running and luckily shut it off Foundation drain worked perfectly. Not a drop of water in the basement 😁.

So I see you install the French drain differently than I do, I see you used the pvc instead of the roll drain, glad to see that. When we install are drain there are two, side by side at footing level with drain socks to stop sediment
With 6 inches of 1 inch gravel under and 12 inch gravel on top, also on every side of the foundation we install a vertical line up to grade for clean out and inspection, I always go above code especially on a foundation,

I’am in northern Illinois

I enjoy the little snippets from Jamie in each video.... I learn quite a bit and he's entertaining. I also appreciate all the work Jamie and Erik put in ordering materials and going over drawings. You guys have a great partnership and a great crew!

You should bury a 1 million subscriber time capsule behind that wall before you backfill. You’ll have something sent to space and something deep in the earth to find next century. ❤

About the orientation of the holes on the french drain pipe, the Practical Engineering channel literally just posted a video that talks about how french drains work and addresses that!
