This video follows a group of woodworkers as they work on framing the walls of a home construction project. They carefully measure and mark the locations for bolting down the pressure-treated bottom plates, ensuring the walls will be level and plumb. The team discusses techniques like overdrilling the bolt holes to make installation easier. They use a laser level to find the average height across the walls and determine the optimal stud length. Overall, it provides an informative look at the meticulous process of framing a house from the ground up.

Its heart-warming that Jamie can talk about his hand around others in a light-hearted, humorous way. The doctor-support team (nurses, tecs, specialists) never get paid enough. Most of them do it because of their dedication to their fellow citizens. Its humbling to witness how people overcome their handicaps.

My brain cannot reconcile why seeing 3 stud walls up feels like so much more progress than all of the civil and concrete work to date.

That letter is nostalgic.
My dad was a building drafter/designer for decades and his handwriting is exactly like that to this day.

Don't worry, I can't bloody read it either sometimes.

The difference from the end of the video to the advert in the middle is wild, really starting to take shape now that the wood is going up.

I loved seeing the Arlo content - his years of experience interjecting tips all the time.
Now, it’s great watching y’all teaching Max on the site. So much patience and how-to.
This is such great content

That’s “re-markable”. Jamie always has the best one-liners. Clever and funny 😂

Man, I almost forgot you guys worked with wood. 😂😂 So good to hear the nail gun going again. :)

Stud heights. I would use Tim's trick. Using the suspended caulk line and get an unique length for each individual stud height. This accounts for any variabilty at floor level and slab level simultaneously.
Tim = awesome framers.

I'm always disappointed when these videos end. I just can't get enough! 😍

It’s nice to see you guys building headers this way because last place I built had boxed headers filled with insulation just like you guys did here and like I’ve always done it in the past. The building inspector walked through everything and said it’s all perfect except last minute as he walks out asked what’s in between the headers. I explained and he asked if there’s any blocking connecting both sides nailed together on both sides of the 2x10 or is it just hollow with insulation. I said no it’s hollow, he didn’t like that. After standing around scratching our heads with him on an easy way to fix it… which there really isn’t, he let it go and said next time add blocks and nail from each side to make it a “solid member” even though it was nailed top and bottom. Can’t really argue with an inspector can only work with them

Jamie, it looked to me like that construction calculator said your stud length should have been 107 7/8", not the 107 1/8" as mentioned in the video @12:40. Was the camera lying to me?
EDIT: Of course, I see that Eric caught the error... Good job, Eric!

Using explaining to Max as a means to going over how you operate and recording it for your videos seems like an awesome opportunity. Great video yet again, dudes!

I have to say Jaime really thinks things through. I like his method of tackling projects. He really wants to eliminate snags that could cause a delay or delays on the project. Hats off to the Perkins Bros. & company. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I enjoy watching you, professional carpenters do your work.

I like the old-fashioned way of put the board on the anchors and give it a good old whack.
Wherever the depressions are are exactly where the the bolts need to go.
Thank you, Larry Haun

BEST TIME OF THE DAY... PERKINS BUILDER BROTHERS VIDEO TIME!

I would be putting flooring protection down over the entire concrete slab for the duration of the build so it doesnt get damaged. Walking dirt covered boots onto it will scratch it to pieces over the full build, or just one dropped tool and its game over

Pro tip for yall. Bring along an angle grinder with really any disc on it, and use it to erase marks on your plates when you want to start fresh!

For extra air tightness, consider laying a bead or two of sealant on both sides of the sill gasket as its primary role limits wicking if Im not mistaken.
