This is the one and only Prius Prime we will probably get this year at the dealership in work at, so I wanted to explore the car with you and show you why they are so great, and also talk about the production issues these have.

there is one for sale out here and they have it marked up 25% over MSRP. the laws protecting the dealership model need to be removed if they are going to price gouge. "market adjustment" lol... fancy word for greed.

Finally a video about base SE model which more economically-minded people will choose- everyone posts vids of higher models and its so damned annoying.

Sat in a new 2023 and felt clostrofobic....and refused to pay the markup and wait a 2022 with low miles and love the new one looks great and goes further in EV, but because of its new shape looses lots of interior room and is less aerodynamic...

This was a great tour! I’m still driving my 2006 Prius (and I’m no grandma!) I love it to death, but I’m ready to upgrade to the new Prime when I can get my hands on one in Los Angeles. Yeah that markup is holding me back. I wonder how supply will be with the 2024’s.

The best presentation I found on YouTube 👏 . Are there sensors at the front and back car? Those little circles… what exactly are those?

Funny....I actually am from Asheville and live in Atlanta (my current car is a 2010 Prius from Jim Barkley Toyota Asheville: your precursor). At that point the Prius was really the hybrid to get: it was a usable hatchback with fold down seats (the sedans didn't have fold down seats because of bigger battery). I first contacted Fed Anderson when I saw an allotment for Prius Prime in SE on the Toyota site. Don't know if it was this car (the sales person I talked to mentioned it was the first Prius Prime they got and how cool it was to see about charging). All other reviews I've seen are from top end XSE models with the 19" tires: interesting you say the base 17" are terrible. Maybe there is that much difference with the two tires. Just these last couple of weeks, inventory for the South East has opened up (now seeing more inventory listed for Atlanta dealerships and such). I think the main reason why the Prius Prime has very limited allocations in the SE is that Toyota is being very conservative with their manufacturing, and giving more allotments for Prime in zero emission regions (as I was kind of surprised to hear from reviewers about how conservative Toyota now is with Prius and the Prime- given sales were going down: think they will find sales going up now with this new design). Got a call from Fed Anderson this week that another allotment went their way (XSE). I told them it's till not for me as I am looking at the XSE Premium. Don't know if you were/are going to have time with it, as it seems the current Prius is about people having to make a deposit off what they see on the internet. This week I saw a red XSE Premium on Toyota's site in Roswell GA (a 40 min drive from my home in Atlanta). I contacted them day of....main sales associate I talked to after talking with a GM over the phone, she at first didn't know about the car I was talking about (because it was just being entered into their computer). I did get a downpayment in, so I'm locked into buying the car when it gets delivered. So for me in Atlanta, the Prius Prime seems great option in that it's enough EV for city driving, and improvements in hybrid driving from my 2010 Prius (and also it looks like a nice car vs gen 4). With my general driving, I've had dogs and smaller people in the back seat, so I'm not as concerned with the less headroom. The main negaative is the cargo space. It looks like with the default foam could hold my own tire repair kit and other things....don't think that if I removed it, I could fit a slim spare tire in there.

Wow! An honest review about Toyota navigation system usually reviewers simply say that it is fantastic. I have it in Rav4. It is kind of useless :( Toyota really forces the owners to install their spy-app, without it the screen always prompts you to "finish setup" and there is no way to opt out from this. Carplay forces you to activate Siri for verbal commands, the touch option is disabled for some reason so Siri wants to listen all the time :( If the radio controls were not integrated into this screen, you can simply turn this screen off and never bother with it. I resent when people pay so much money for a new car and the screen you just paid for is used for one purpose only - to make even more money off you.

SE trim😂 But good title. I wonder when the first one with solar panel is sold.

Compared to some other dealer videos you seem to know what you are talking about and actually used the car before making a video😂

I'm in SoCal, I got a Prius LE for msrp from out of state dealer for $29k. I'm now trying to flip it for $36k and buy a Prime SE.

Something is wrong here. I just too deliver of a 2023 Prius Prime XSE, and it has totally different wheels than this one. Mine has 19" wheels and a very different wheel design. I don't think this is the same car.

the fit & finish of the interior is made of cheap quality material. Feels like you're buying a Scion. Not worth $40K +

The 2023 Prime has too many negatives. Small trunk space. Low head room for back seat passengers. Difficult to get in and out of if you’re tall. Steering wheel blocks view of instrument cluster. Cheap looking interior. I’ve had five Prius’s. There won’t be number six.
