I disagree with Alex, the two completely separate displays are a godsend. Two main reasons: 1. entertainment options don't affect the dash options as they're not integrated and 2. 10 years down the line when that touch screen bs is made redundant a third party replacement won't affect any other features of the car. It's something Japan does well in their regular cars, keeping climate, entertainment and dash SEPARATE

The normal doorhandles... the real buttons and analogue controls... I almost shed a tear.

I live in Japan, and some of the body kits and ideas that people are having for this new generation prius are INSANE. It actually looks cool, and gives me early 2000s tuner vibes

I worked for Toyota for a short time (two and half years) and I can say I use to hate the prius line up at the start. But as they came out with different models. I slowly started to like them and honestly I wouldn't mind picking up a new Prime model.

I have the 2023 non prime Prius and it’s amazing. I consistently get around 56 mpg and have only had to fuel up once in 900 miles so far. This thing is awesome!

I've been seeing them everywhere in Japan. The first time I saw one, I knew immediately it was a Prius. It's funny how they managed to make it look substantially different, but also recognizable. Not gonna lie, it looks badass haha

For accessing the safety features of the car, I think keeping it separate from the Android OS in that heads up display is probably for the best...

10:32 "It has a CVT transmission, and it's just the whole time." Toyota has always been their worst ally when it comes to explaining/promoting their style of hybrid powertrain: The CVT in a Prius and a number of other Toyota vehicles isn't the pulley-based system that has made people hate CVTs. It's completely different. It's a planetary gearset with multiple electric motors, and it's fantastic. Sure, the end result is an "infinite" number of gear ratios, and it allows the internal combustion engine to just sit at a specific RPM if it really wants to. But they don't feel quite as "rubber band-y" as a pulley-based CVT. They've also proven to be much more reliable over the years.

On top of this, the inline 4 in the Prius is constantly run in an Atkinson cycle rather than an Otto cycle for the sake of efficiency, and this contributes to its signature sound.

We need more of this exact type of car, or at least its powertrain. 30-40 miles of electric range, ~550 miles of overall range, decent looks, and decent performance/comfort for a decent price (when markups aren't a thing).

I love the auto videos on this channel. Really gives me an idea of what car I should be buying in 10 years when the used prices are finally low enough for me to get the car in the video.

Shouldn't it be 180 and not 360 degrees? :D Prius looks damn nice.

Nice to see some more affordable cars featured on the menu. I'd like to see some more of that sprinkled in between all the more premium cars.

Disagree on the segment about the safety settings. I'm glad that a) it's hard to change things and b) it's NOT on the infotainment screen. Infotainment should ALWAYS be kept separate from driver assistance features, and I'm glad that Toyota realizes this. Sure, it's a lot of menus and submenus to dig through, but it also educates you better on how those safety features actually work (and ensures you won't accidentally turn things on or off).

I agree about the Prius V. More cargo space is a good thing!

A larger Prius V with this powertrain, design, and awd would be AMAZING

One of the nice things from going to an '04 to a '23 (Toyota Rav4 to a Subaru Outback) like I had to do recently ("had" to) is that everything feels like a space-age upgrade. He mentions being surprised that dual-climate isn't an option and to me, that's so new and exciting I didn't know it was a pedestrian inclusion.

Still though, it's cool to see what's going on in cars. I don't know that I'm the target audience for a Prime, but it sure is neat to look at.

One more merit to the smaller rims is the bigger tire sidewalls will make your ride more comfortable.

good job Toyota for not being afraid of physical buttons, jogs, and dials.
