The 2023 Toyota Prius ($42,990 as specced in Canada, $35,865 as specced in the US) is here with a bold new look and aims to impress. Beyond its sharp exterior styling is a larger 2.0 L engine which is capable of up to 196 horsepower, and comes with standard AWD (in Canada). Also with a base MSRP of just $27,450 in the US ($36,490 in Canada), the new Toyota Prius hopes to appeal to a wide range of buyers. But how is it to drive and live with on a day to day basis? And is a Prius…cool now? Thomas and James explore the ins and outs of this new hybrid, and try to determine if they think a Prius has a newfound pizzazz. We hope you enjoy the episode! You guys have had some legendary intros but I think this one takes the crown. Hilarious, meta and satirical. Sheer perfection.

You guys have brought a level of joy back to my life that i have not experienced since the days of Clarkson, Hammond, and May on Top Gear. I Know that sounds sad, but i can ingest car reviews all day if left to my own devices. You guys have transcended all other channels. These intros, the editing, the cinematography are all on another level. THANK YOU for what you do.

The idea of still managing to keep it under $30k for the base model for a hybrid nowadays is impressive.

I never thought that I would ever enjoy watching a Prius review video. This channel is unmatched and by far the best car media channel available today.

“Pissed myself better turn on the ventilated seats” was not expecting that carry through between scenes wow. Honestly the writing on this episode is superb.

Strange world because I was excited to see a Prius review. You guys killed it on the intro. It was a great way to start the day after some awful business travel.

You two have a bright future, and are the only ones that can make a Prius review interesting.

Somehow you guys have matured and kept that childish enthusiasm alive.. and thats what cars are about... We never grow older than 6 when it comes to cars.. the opening was just hilarious and the review was what a practical person would say.. you guys rock.. keep it up

The big thing for me is that this is no longer a bad car. This isn't a performance car either but at least the people buying them won't struggle up hills and accelerating on the highway, which means its a viable option for a daily and even a family.

I’ve shared this a dozen times and I’ve watched it probably more than that just for the intro. My wife works at Toyota and she shared it around. Absolutely hilarious and your best work yet.

I love how excited everyone is, and then there's Karston. Still stoic. Even the fist bump he has his neutral expression.

"I can't believe Prius actually means crown" is such a great callback to the Crown video, which was also excellent. Outstanding writing on this one boys.

Ya know... I really enjoy the car comparisons, the track comparisons, the in depth coverage of all things automobile by Throttle House... BUT the skits they perform and the comedy they provide are simply ICING ON THE CAKE FOR ME... IT'S PRICELESS!! THATS why I keep coming back for more. Merry Christmas Throttle House crew!

Throttle House does a spectacular Key & Peele intro.
Karston: "I will sit here, unemotional, and just FOCUS."
Lol

The 2013 Prius was, personally, my favourite car. I didn't mind the looks, and I saved so much money on petrol. This looks amazing!!

I love my 2007 Prius it was left behind by a family member who moved away and I promised to take care of it. I have to say that the Prius hate is real on the road it doesn't matter how fast i was going (usually 85 to 95 mph) people automatically try to pass me on the highway. But in the five years of driving the Prius it saved me a ton of money so much in fact I was able to get a 2022 Cayman GTS manual. The two are polar opposites and the driving experience is extreme on both ends. BTW that intro had me dying!

this might be the first Prius that Jeremy Clarkson doesn't hate with all his heart

Looks great! And other than the rear door handles, looks like a sensible car too, I like that it has buttons instead of those awful capacitive touch sensors
