Please also compare processor load, which is more important than Ram.

These tests baffle me. I have tried XFCE, GNOME and KDE but not in Manjaro, and XFCE consumes almost half the RAM of GNOME! So I don't know what kind of magic Manjaro does with GNOME, it really makes it very lightweight.

how on earth is xfce consuming more than kde??

~$ free shows memory use. The second column, 'used, ' is the one you want for these comparisons. Use the -m switch to give values in mebibytes (--mega for megabytes) for best resolution in this context. See ~$ man free

Those tests shows: Pick any distribution do you like. But abandon all those bloated internet browsers.
Damn, We are living in 2022 and but we are wasting half of the memory only due to complete, inefficient web technologies.
And its getting worse from years to years.

In the first test, the result is not correct, because for XFCE you use screenfetch, and for Gnome and KDE neofetch. It seems that screenfetch gives inaccurate results. It is impossible for XFCE to consume more memory than Gnome.

Please do for Ubuntu with different desktop environments

There is literally no point running XFCE unless you want to pretend you are running a desktop from decades ago, KDE has more functionality, more configuration and is leaner (maybe if you have a very old machine with terrible on-board GPU)

This comparison cannot be accurate at all! It can't be possible that the Xfce's consumption be like GNOME or KDE!
