I love retopo! The best thing about it is comparing the vertex count from the sculpt mesh and the retopo mesh

Just came back from watching your guy's new retopo tutorial for Blender 2.8! Just using that as a basis, I was able to learn a lot about workflow from this video! I'm still curious about a bunch of things, like how the process for the fingers translates into blender, and why you inset/divided the faces you did when going back through the mesh, so I hope your next tutorial hits us soon! Thanks a ton for what you've provided us with so far!

These are cool, but I really wish more retopo videos showed of retopoing characters with clothes, full of hanging cloth, large and small wrinkles, and different accessories.

question: I did that and UV mapping, brought it to Substance and back to Maya.... how do I add the details of the Sculpt figure to the retop model? (i hope I make sense, sorry)

Does anybody no what an acceptable poly count for a film character asset base mesh is? I got the retopo down to a degree and I'm at 6114 before subdivision and at 24k after subdivision.is this to dense?

Hey guys, first of all, LOVE your videos and way of relaying the information!
So secondly, I couldn't find any videos on XGen neither in your video list nor in the Tutorial list in your website.
Any chances on making one? For I think reliable tutorials on Fur and Hair styling using XGen can't be found, like, anywhere on the internet(no documentation references please :D).
Hope that it'd be something that'll be covered later on.

Well, you can send it to ZBrush and Polygroup everything to guarantee that when you ZRemesh it the edgeloops will be where you need it, but of course nothing beats drawing up each poly individually. I wish 3ds max had tools like make an object Live and Quad Draw on top of it (is this what it is called?) as good as Maya's.
