I'm going to end up upgrading from an iphone 6s plus to an iphone 7 plus. The 8 just doesnt do enough to warrant the upgrade...and i never buy first gen. I'm going to give it a year or two for the iphone x to become something worth looking at.

Question: How is the camera on this new phone? I have been using a dslr to shoot my videos but I don't want to carry my dslr everywhere I go!!!! Does this camera shoot

I'd get the 8 just for the fingerprint scanner. I'm not too interested in facial recognition.
But the 7 has a perfectly working fingerprint scanner.

I agree with you on the pricing....before I knew the pricing, I was pretty sure I would get the 8 over the X because of the price savings...now it may not be worth it. I dunno...I still like the screen to bezel ratio for doing things like watching youtube videos while holding my phone...but I will feel a little cheated when I could just pay an extra 150 for the X.

So, I currently use an iPhone 5. I’m pretty much stuck in the Apple eco-system, and not looking to leave it just yet. What phone should I upgrade to? The 5 is showing it’s years, a lot. Part of me wants the latest and greatest but the iPhone X is more around 1200$ here in Sweden which makes it hard for me to justify buying it. Suggestions?

I am considering it because I am getting a MacBook pro for the first time and would be interested in experiencing the whole Apple ecosystem. I've been an android and pc guy forever. Wanna switch it up and I want a Mac to edit photos on. Would coming from the Note 5 to the iPhone 8 plus be a bad move?

Your actually correct Karl 7/7plus there is no difference 8/8plus but I would upgrade to the 8 plus (1) because I like big phones and (2) I’am really digging the new gold color btw I really like the iPhone X display but the down side is I don’t like how they put the camera vertically I think they should have kept how the display is on the iPhone X but the should just put the camera Horizontally but I would go with the 8 plus in the new gold color.

ive always wanted to try out an iphone, but the prices in europe are insane, 40% more expensive than in US (about 1100$ for the ip8+ 64gb). atm my 1 year old oneplus 3 is just fine.

Eh, I bought the iphone 8 and I don't regret it. My iphone 6 has been completely broken for a couple weeks and I've been waiting for the new phones to spend money on a new one, but another month without texting isn't worth the slightly larger display to me. I could always have gone with the 7, but the price difference is like a hundred bucks and I know I'll use wireless charging a lot, so that I was willing to wait for. The design probably is outdated, and there definitely isn't that much of a difference from the last phone, but if you know you'll be buying your phone from apple and you need a phone right now, the iphone 8 makes sense.

I agree with what you were saying why would I get the 8 if I get the same stuff with the 7 that extra 300 for the iPhone X is more reasonable because it's an actual upgrade I just hope the facial recognition can be turned off I'd rather use a password
