"Life has meaning with responsibility, the more responsibility you take the more meaning your life has, the higher responsibility you are willing to bear, the richer your life will be."

In the Spider-Man saga it is pointed out that "With great power comes great responsibility." What people fail to grasp is that "With great responsibility comes great power."

We may not begin with much power, but by taking responsibility we expand our power.

Excellent message from Jordan Peterson. Not just for the young.

Peterson is great in part because he shares his wisdom freely with people.

Dad died when I was 13, growing up wasn't/isn't easy. Petersons videos helped me to make more progress on myself in the past 2 months than I made in the 4 years before I saw them.

It always amazes me how many people I know who had difficult (or impossible) father relationships.
Fathers are often flawed individuals who have not fully matured so that they can assume the role of the protector, but instead create doubt and fear in their children. This is something that many of us know to some degree.

I grew up without my dad, for the most part, and the minimal fathering I got was negative. I did feel like I was on the outside of our society and I lived accordingly until I was 25ish. Psilocybin helped me to face my attitude towards and perception of society and my place in it. Basically, I tripped really hard, cleaned a few rooms, and found my self confidence and courage. Great video!

Jordan Peterson honestly helped me to overcome my fears and be a better person. I was hurting myself with my fears and now I'm overcoming them one by one.

His statement about the mother really hits me about my best friend, we were 15 and his mom died suddenly one evening of an aneurism. So much pot, mdma, meth and coke have been consumed by him since to try to bring back the good supportive feelings she gave.

I have many good men in my life teaching me how to do the right thing. And I’m blessed by God that I am now becoming a good man, little by little.

Wearing a cardigan sweater LIKE A BOSS! Only Jordan Peterson can pull that off. Well done!

You could still rewire yourself to be courageous if you had no father or mother, or if you had a dysfunctional relationship with them. It just takes knowledge and a lot of inner work.

I love my father, but he didn't help me to become a strong person. Actually I'm weak, just like him.

I don't know when this was but I can really see how much pain he is in. I think it was 2017 where he had really bad health issues and in this video I can see him struggling a lot. His posture, mostly holding/leaning against something and you can just see that he wasn't well at all. I really love listening to him and hearing him talk. He has such a logical way of life and it's really beautiful to be able to experience it and him

It seems to me that these parental archetypes, as we mature, become our own councious. I feel these different parts fighting within my psyche as I try to develop my character as a teen. Specifically the crushing father, whose harsh critiques lack the supportive element that makes them lessons rather than insults. I'd encourage people to pay attention to how they feel or think about the way they are living and connect it these ideas. Thanks, Jordan. It seems to me that you are filling up a father figure shaped hole in the modern culture.

Thanks for share. For me i think no person on this earth was born a courageous person. The capacity for courage lies within all of us. In everything we do, every time we have the courage to try something new, we will either succeed or we will fail. When we develop the habit of courage, a new world of possibilities opens up to us.

My dad is exactly like this, my mother died of cancer and he is raising 4 of us while also being the boss of his work. We moved from NY to CALI and I have found more respect for him in the last few months. Due to my push for success i realize we are very similiar.

I always have this fear of watching JP's videos, there's always something he mentions which epiphanies the errors of my upbringing. Guess the truth hurts but it's what I need to progress as a person. Thank you Jordan

Really love this speech, no one comes from a perfect family, not all parents know how to raise up "correctly" their children. I'm really glad to hear this in the age of 26, not too young but not to old either. From this moment, I'll be a courageous and fearless person. I'll have the bold to lose then to try again and again until I fight over the difficulty. And one day, my children won't have the same problem or even less than mine, then I could be very proud that I make a progress for the evolution of my family.
