Hide a camera (or anything else) in this photo frame

In this video, Chris demonstrates a special photo frame with a secret. The Conceal-a-cam picture frame can hide a surveillance camera in plain sight. It can also be used to hide money, documents, or any other valuables that fit in the frame.

Does it work in the dark with the film?

The only downfall is that the motion sensor is covered. Correct? If so, Ring Cameras start recording when they detected motions. How are you able to record or is it on all the time?
