I did by multiplying old average and number of persons which equals 12*40= 480
When teacher's age is added, I calculated new sum = new average* new number of persons= 13*41 = 523 then I subtracted old sum from new sum = 533_480 = 53

12 x 40 = 480 years
((480 + y)/41)= 13
Y= 533 - 480 =53

Sir, in this case my approach would be...
As average age is increasing by 1 year, For 40 students the age needs to be added is 40×1 = 40.
Since the teacher also joined making an average age of 13, I shall add 13 more with 40.
Hence the answer becomes 53🎉
Sir please let me know whether my approach is appreciated or not.🙏

Sir increase by 1 so 12+1=13 so 53 ha?
