2016 Mazda 6 owner here. 82, 000 miles. Only change oil and filter, brake pads, air filter. Check engine light has never been on. Awesome car.

I have been a Honda Loyalist since I was born and brought home in a 1993 Honda Civic Hatchback. I have had good Hondas until my 2016 Honda Civic 1.5 Turbo. Oil dilution like crazy. No such issues with my Mazda. The fit and finish of the Mazda is better and it feels stronger and better made. Mazda has really come a long way. They are doing some really amazing vehicle for mechanical reliablity. I really love my Mazda 6 SKYACTIV turbo, a car with 310 ft-lbs and no electric motors doesn't seem like a car that could get 5L/100km on the highway but it does.

I'm surprised theres not more Kias and Hyundais on the list. It's tough to beat Toyota on reliability though.

I would say that Acura fighting VW for one of the least reliable positions compared to the usual Lexus, Toyota, Acura and Honda constantly fighting for top 4 (sometimes Buick being peppered in there for some unknown reason) seems like the company (Honda) took a real wrong turn somewhere. I really hope they can come back around. I think Mazda seems poised to be the best up and comer this year for reliability and styling as an underdog. I just got out of an Acura and into a Mazda for that exact reason! I find Toyota and Lexus very reliable but their styling seems to have been sacrificed to have models that are fiercely reliable however not the best looking vehicles on the block :)

Peeps, a lot of vehicles that aren't included share the same motor, transmission and electronics from the same manufacturers. So use that as additional guidance. For example, if a GS350 is reliable, be confident that an IS 350 will also be reliable. If a NX 300 is reliable, so too will an IS 300. If the es350 is reliable, so too will the Camry V6 and the Avalon. If the Lexus V8 SUV is reliable, be confident that the Tundra will be too. Get it!?

Some say that Consumer Reports isn't very truthful, and can be paid off by the manufactures, like the J.D Power model. These top ten most reliable lists are too subjective because there's just too many variables that have to match up to get objective results.
