My wife and I make soil from eggshells, sand from the mountains, used tea and coffee grounds. When it rains I pump out the catch saucers and store the 100% organic liquid fertilizer. We have tangerines, Kaffir limes, pomegranates, passion fruit, peas, tomatoes, onions, bok choy, lettuce, carrots and herbs. Its all vertical in a strip alongside our mobile home.

Spent 5 years raking fall leaves into a low spot in the back garden, the idea was a natural landfill and compost. Last year I did a veg garden in a different spot, it did fine. My wife wanted me to move it this season and the only spot to move it was the low spot. The second the shovel touched soil, I knew what was up... So much softer and rich than the soil from just a couple yards away. No pesticides, using native bugs to curb pest, companion planting for natural control over pest and plants. I'm excited to see the yield this season.
