I know it's probably been said 1000 times BUT her daughter Jasmine is breathtaking, and her voice is as soft and beautiful as she is. She seems like she has a very kind heart so her mother did something right while raising her.

I honestly empathize with the people who try to help hoarders. They have the patience of a saint. Unfortunately I could never do it.

I wonder if they did a hoarder house swap and they had to sit in someone else's mountain of rubbish for a week, with no emotional attachment to the items they would be able to see more objectively?

What strikes me about this family is that, despite this huge problem, they all love each other and enjoy each others company. My parents were abusive, and my siblings are estranged from each other. We all dealt with the abuse in different ways and there were issues too large to get over. As senior citizens, few of us still communicate.

I've lived 30 years with a hoarder. It's a constant battle to have a normal household. I've seen him dig things out of the trash that I've thrown away.

And then she went on to help other hoarders in a show, she really went on a crusade against hoarding

She certainly raised some wonderful, understanding & supportive children. Everyone should be so blessed. Bless all of them. It’s got to be tough on the entire family without a doubt & it appears to be a very long process, 🙏🏼😔🙏🏼

"Useful things that are of no use."...simply put, yet quite profound.

I know how hard it is to sell or give my stuff away...it’s almost like I’m giving myself away. But I’m determined to beat my hoarding habits. One thing that helps me is meditating...and I realizing I am not my things. I am my smile, not my 100 pairs of shoes. I am my laugh, not my 200+ clothing I have. It seems the more I clear my mind, my desire to clear my space grows. I’ll get there, I’ll succeed! And then I’ll help other people who hoard, because I understand their struggle & anxiety.

The mum nailed it when she said "Useful things that have no use.!" That's is the crux to the problem. The mum see the potential in everything but doesn't consider if she really need to use what she sees.

Heartbreaking "All my life I've felt like mum thought her stuff was more important than me"

Beautiful family. One of the first I've watched where the children show so much support & love for their troubled parent. 50% is more than the horder is usually able to part with & I think it's because of the tenderness they show her. Most families are screaming at one another. If this family simple say something that's a little harsh or not nice, it's not long before the express regret & are giving hugs. She's so lucky to have children that are intelligent enough to comprehend this disorder and not try to make her feel crazy or as a disappointment.

My heart goes out to this family. I kept thinking that the mom maybe would be helped by a therapist. She lived thru the war, moved many times and had to leave her things behind and, I think, lost her father. That's a lot of emptiness to fill up

This mum has truly patient, wonderful and loving kids.  She doesn't seem to realize how very lucky she is to have children who love her so much and want to help her.

When I watch this I see myself gasping for air. My mom was a hoarder for nearly all her life and she past it on to us children. Clinging to stuff is like clinging to little episodes of your life you don`t want to let go and episodes you wish you have lived. Deep down inside you know that you are the only one who can and must solve this problem. Noone else can do it for you. When I look at all the things I have to sort out it gets so overwhelming that I become anxious. I know now that I have to learn to concentrate only on little parts of the house by blending out the rest. When you look at everything you just get num and you don`t even start. TFS
