Causes include decreased supply (a nutritional deficiency, malabsorption syndrome) or increased demand (pregnancy, lactation, growth), blood loss is also a common cause (menstruation or gastrointestinal bleeding).

Clinical symptoms of iron deficiency anemia include pica, glossitis, achlorhydria (indigestion), fatigue, pallor, exercise intolerance, flow murmurs, and even angina.

Restless leg syndrome is associated with iron deficiency anemia.

Anemia can be classified as microcytic (low MCV; or mean corpuscular volume), normocytic (normal MCV) and macrocytic (High MCV).

The normal MCV level is about 76 to 96 fL.

It's really tiring to have anemia. You're body is tired of all of a sudden when you're not really tired at all.

I’ve heard crunching ice gives the feeling of breathing in fresh air. Iron carries oxygen and if you’re lacking, it makes sense.

I had trouble falling and staying asleep, heart palpitations, hair loss, fatigue, headaches, very tired looking and was so much paler than my sisters. I got my ferritin and hb checked and they were low. Taking iron and finally feeling good again!

Drinks high in vitamin c have been proven to enhance the absorbtion of iron and is better to drink them whilst you are eating iron rich foods.

Here because I’ve been heavily fatigued and so badly lethargic for the past few days, and it’s stopping me from completing my day to day tasks. Even writing out this comment is taking up all of my energy.

What I extremely love about your video sereis is how you recap past videos as we go on
it makes everything so easy to remember so by the end of the series you've basically studied and memorized the concept about 4 or 5 times already
I've finished your nephrology playlist and I don't think I will ever forget the things I understood and memorized there
I'm looking forward to finishing this playlist too!

I have anemia same with my dad and his dad.
I’ve passed out twice and have woken up with blood everywhere(from my nose) I always felt tired and dizzy too. Once I was jumping down the stairs straight after sitting down and then I remember crashing into my friend at the bottom but not falling. Now I just have to have iron tablets and lots of green veg so I’m getting better. OMG didn’t know the leg thing was related I thought I was just very figity

Sorry for boring you with unneeded info T-T

I have always had anemia, as young as 7 years old. Mine is severe, like hair loss, I even sometimes lose eyelashes and eyebrows. It’s scary when they come out in lumps. Feeling just exhausted for no reason and not being able to get out of bed. Yeah not pretty for most of us.

If you have anemia take vitamin pills the doctors give you.
Eat green Vegetables 🥬.
Don’t drink soda caffeine or pizza and pork or chips or junk food.
Don’t drink wine or beer or anything like that.
❤️Hoped this helped ❤️
