2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray - First Look

At long last, say hi to the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. This is the mid-engine Corvette long prophesied in buff books of yore. Now that the Corvette has evolved into a mid-engine supercar there’s plenty to marvel at; a naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter LT2 V8, an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, a removable roof panel, and a zero to sixty time of less than 3 seconds when equipped with the Z51 Performance Package. That’s all properly dazzling but perhaps the greatest shock from our first look at the 2020 Corvette is the price. The new Corvette starts at less-than $60,000. Kelley Blue Book’s Micah Muzio has thoughts about that crazy low price tag plus some choice words about the mid-engine Corvette’s interior.

I can see people tuning this engine like engine, look at that interior and for less than 60k, its gonna sell a lot. Well done Chevy.

The biggest selling point is that Price tag

I guess my down payment that I been saving for a SUPRA is going to a Corvette.

$60k for 495hp mid engine. Someone must be really pissed off looking at their recently purchased 718.

This car is everything the new NSX should have been, nobody wants to pay 200k for a Honda no matter how good it is.

Price tag is so intresting. That's why I love American cars.

I hope GM sells 1 million of them.... I had a 1974 Corvette and it's time to buy the 2020. This is American supercar.

Mid engine and looking exotic. It’s an excellent package for 60k. No other competitors will ever beat this. GM 💪

So now 495 HP on a base model is "underwhelming"? You have to be kidding...

I'm a mopar guy, but I have to say I'm impressed.
The button strip down the middle of the interior is the worst part of the car, but the rest of the interior is nice.
As for performance, I love the naturally aspirated engine. People will surely complain, but the power is perfectly matched by the mid engine design and suspension.
It's a very well thought out package that will deliver everything the average driver will ever need.
The icing on the cake is the price.
That's what puts this car over the top.
Well done, Chevy.

This is amazingly a great feat. 1) done in house, 2) GM Platform and Powertrain. 3) priced at a base of 57k. I say this because Toyota (which unfortunately doesn't have Ichiro Suzuki and Haruhiko Tanahashi anymore), have to count on the talents of Tatsuya Tada, which is known as the king of outsourcing and recalls. Tada claims that they didn't have the ability to do a Supra by itself and price it under 60k. GM, did it. Not only that, they developed a new mid engined platform for nearly the MSRP of the Supra. That is amazing. Regardless of what you think of GM, that's a great and something to be proud of achievement. This comment is from a Toyota fan. I still own my Haruhiko Tanahashi Mark ll Supra since High School. It is restored and in my Garage. I don't care if it's never very valuable. I own it because it represented an era of Eiji Toyoda and his carrying on with the Company philosophy.

I think is a proud moment for GM fans. It's great to see their engineering team make a car they like. Even if it doesn't sell, it's a historic vehicle, and a solid collectible.

The corvette was selling for $50k+ in the late 80's. I admired it in the showroom at a dealership where my aunt worked in the finance dept everytime my uncle and I waited to pick her up. It's 2019, and essentially it sells for the same price. This is the best sports car money can buy!
