Never underestimate an average sized man who excels in an endeavor that favors the biggest and strongest. I think John McPhee is the biggest Delta guy I’ve ever seen and even he isn’t a really big guy.

If I were to say, both units are at the top of the food chain, both are damn well elite of the elites, but when it comes to Hostage Rescue I’ll always pick Delta, and if it comes to Raids or HVT kills I’ll always pick Devgru.

I have an uncle who was a Vietnam Green Beret and another uncle who was a Vietnam SEAL. Uncle SEAL was 6-5 and loud. Uncle SF was 5-10, quiet and humble. He’d say, “We don’t train for bar fights. We train as part of a fighting team. Some of the best green berets are 5-7!”
