Even if you finally manage to choose one, you may be able to strictly follow it for weeks, months, or even a year or two, it is extremely hard to stick to it for the rest of your life (lots of studies found this true).

So, for most people, if you really aim to change your health condition in the long term, the best way is to change your lifestyle, which means something you could do without exhausting your willpower and energy. No need to rigorously obey any specific diet plans, paying attention to those rules in common, like eating more vegetables and whole grains, less sugar and ultra-processed food, being aware of what you’re eating.

Eating healthier is not about giving up foods you enjoy, on the contrary, it’s adding new elements to your current diet, you get to enjoy more when you are open to more options. If your favorite food is pizza, don’t quit it because you learned it’s a high-carb, high-fat food, what you eat is important, but your mood is also important to your health, allow yourself to be happy. Moreover, they are not necessarily conflicting, you can eat your pizza with a Thai papaya salad, and eat the best one sold in a restaurant across the town so you can only eat it once a week, it will taste even more satisfying.
