Thank you. I'm sure that's what I've been experiencing. I thought it was, maybe, strained neck muscles connected to the part in the ear that has to do with equilibrium/nausea, but after hearing this, I'm sure this is what it has been. Thanks, again.👍

Thank you for this. The last few weeks I had terrible vertigo and nausea; so much I was shaking, throwing up and couldn't do anything. I had a feeling at least in part it was my neck muscles. The regular doctor at urgent care said that wasn't possible and just gave me anti-emetics and pain medicine that didn't really even seem to work. I went and saw my chiropractor; he adjusted me; I threw up once, and then he let it rest and the readjusted me...threw up again. But after it did feel a bit better. I had a teacher do cranial sacral and MFR on me, and another do acupuncture...finally helped a bit. My acupuncturist teacher mentioned it was probably due to the fluid in the semi-circular canals swelling and hitting cranial nerve 8, which made sense. When I do self lymph drainage, on the side of my head and ears, it also helps to reduce the vertigo and nausea feeling, so it feels like much more than just "inner ear crystals" particularly since it is worse when I get up after sleeping all night; though I found if I sleep with my head more supported and elevated, it seems to help; possibly with the drainage.

Neck headaches are the worst OMG, and yes I am always NAUSEOUS when I wake up with a stiff painful neck, it's terrible makes me almost not eat that day, I thought it was migraine but it's not for me it comes exclusively from the neck and shoulder blades, it's called cervicogenic headache and migraine medicine doesn't help at all, only musle relaxants and combination of Tylenol and ibuprofen, also bromazepam helps for some reason, I guess it relaxes the muscles and nerves

Hi Dr Mandell, I have been going through same issues with nausea, neck stiffness, severe headache and severe vomitting all day with extreme neck pain which made me bedridden for the whole day. I couldn't take any single drop of water, liquid or any other kind of medication. I am very active in doing yoga practising, stretching and exercising plus walk a lot in my daily routine. Please help me with severe nausea and vomit.

Great information. And this leads to a great question ((what makes nerve 10 do all the disorders/symptoms))? Shortly:((what stimulates that vague nerve)) especially when the person does not have any disease???? Thanks dr. Alan.

I've had bigger and bigger neck & upper back pain since i was around 13 years, I'm 15 now.

Sometimes i can't even stand still because of the pain and i needed to stay home from school today because it feels hard to breathe and i guess it's because of my neck and back /: But mom does not belive me /: Sometimes it feels like i can throw up, like now too. And most of the times so feels like someone has 2 big manly hands arounf my whole neck and tries to make me stop breathing.

And It's mostly because of school i can't get even a bit lower pain, because the chairs are so high, and the tabels arent even to my butt, and I'm only 167cm /:

Holy moly. I would have never thought my assumption would be right. I always wedmd stuff and it's never what I think. The backside of my neck on the right side, near the top of the trap felt tight and like the tendon was strained or the nerve was pinched. Began to feel nausea and thought was getting a severe headache or migraine. I rubbed the crap out of the area and stretched it out. Voila! No more nausea
