Friend of mine got his Mustang GT lemon lawed. The mt82 was trash. It was good when it worked, but that was rare. He got a good lawyer and the replaced it with a vehicle of equal value. Never give up.

Girlfriend bought the Ford Fiesta with Powershift DCT transmission that could never be fixed. They replaced it several times, lasted 10k miles each time, wash, rinse, repeat. She unloaded the car for quite the loss as it was unsafe. I'm sure these have made good lemons.

I had my car lemon lawed. 2013 Ford Focus with the powershift transmission. Had to have it replaced four times in 27, 000 miles. Got 90% of my money back I paid for the car and the lemon law lawyer bills the manufacturer directly so I kept 100% of my settlement. Lemon law lawyers are great!

Please be aware of two things: 1) Lemon laws can vary significantly from state to state. 2) Even if you have a legit lemon, it can take many months to get through the legal bureaucracy of it all. A good lawyer will understand the bureaucracy and probably speed it up significantly, but don't expect to call a lawyer on Friday afternoon and get a new car on Monday.

I had the local dealer do some 'creative' paperwork, when my 2014 Subaru STI engine blew, a well-known problem with a range of these cars, they DID replace the engine under the extended warranty, but wrote it up as 'oil pump failure', since the oil pump failed AFTER ingesting chunks of spun rod bearing.

As a dealer tech from a brand with INSANE “infotainment system” issues, advisor to customer relation is huge, almost always the missing link to fixing someone’s car right the first time, and NEVER buy a new model unless your willing to be part of the hard launch period and figure out problems right along side the manufacturer, awesome video guys keep it up

I could have used this knowledge in 2004. PT Cruiser Turbo went through 3 turbochargers under warranty because the mechanics refused to change the oil feed line even though I told them. I had to write a letter to Chrysler directly to force the dealership fix it the 3rd time because they were pushing back. It was a surprisingly quick and torquey car but after the last fix, I traded for an Element.

I bought a brand new Firsta ST and the check engine light came on literally the next day on my way to work. I took it to the closest Ford dealer, had an issue with them, almost got arrested & was hit with trespassing if I ever went there again. I took it back to the Ford dealer that sold it to me, they bought it back and gave me my trade. It still cost me some money in legal fees because of the other dealership incident though.

As an owner of a 2018 Ford focus. I think I'm incredibly lucky. About 3.5 years of ownership got brand-new currently at 38750 miles. Transmission does do interesting things sometimes but not often and hasn't left me stranded or caused an accident

Love Steve’s YouTube channel. Such a inspiration. From surviving a stroke he suffered in court to overcoming scoliosis and a drug addiction, he’s a stand up guy with a hunchback

If your case is well documented, you should not need an attorney. I had a 2018 Jeep, engine blew with under 10k miles due to defect in the block. FCA was unable to source a replacement engine in the 30 day timeframe. Original offer from FCA was to cover all expenses (There were none ... dealer provided me a loaner car), and $1000 for my trouble. I declined the offer, requested arbitration as per my sales contract, and after about 60 days (most of which was haggling over an aftermarket warranty), I won a full buyback. Honestly, if it were not for the issue of the warranty, it would have been simple.

Would love to hear Steve talk about Magnuson Moss settlements as well. They're a good alternative to Lemon Law for some folks.

Years ago we had a new truck that had an issue with the air conditioning system
We made sure that they listed the item each time. It took 6 times before they were able to finally fix the issue. The issue is when the conditioning unit was being constructed the plant it was at had some building damage that caused moss/spores to get inside. That in turn got into the systems produced there
Once they swapped out the systems, no more problem

I have Lemon Law'd a vehicle. After paying for mileage to first repair came out way ahead versus trading the vehicle for something different.
