JMeter Beginner Tutorial 23 - How to use Test Script Recorder

You may get a pop up on recording - Recorder: Transaction Control. This is fine. This pop-up will come in the latest version of JMeter. You can just provide a transaction name, and time in ms and continue.

Step 1 : Add Test Script Recorder in WorkBench
WorkBench - Non-Test Elements - HTTP(S) Test Script Recorder

Step 2 : In a Thread Group add
Logic Controller - Recording Controller

Step 3 : Add the values in Test Script Recorder parameters

Step 4 : Set Browser Proxy Configuration

Step 5 : Install the certificate in your browser (if required)

Step 6 : Start Recording

Step 7 : Run and validate

Thanks for sharing these concepts. Your videos helped to record scripts using Blazemeter, where we don't have to option to generate log file.
Noticed from this video, it can be achieved using Test Script Recorder.
But my question is not related to JMeter subject. As suggested, when I turn on my system Proxy settings, no Internet connection is available. Unable to load any website. Tried in other machine, same issue exists. Couldn't find fix .Appreciate your Input in resolving this.

There is something wrong with the proxy server, or the address is incorrect.

Try:

Contacting the system admin
Checking the proxy address
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED



Others please guide me in fixing this issue.

Hi Raghav,

I have a few questions:
1. which all calls to exclude, like css, jpeg etc, are there any more calls which should not be kept in scripts, like Http Options call etc ?/
2. How to know using this recorder whether the calls are getting executed simultaneously/parallel, may be after a few ms? Coz the results will add up the calls response time, which won't be correct. Please suggest.

Ex:- I created a script in jmeter and somebody changed the script. Is there any way to track the when its changed and who changed?
