Here are 3 useless exercises that you may still be doing. Number 1, the arnold press. Rotating your arms back and forth adds absolutely no benefit, so just do your normal seated shoulder press on a 60-75 degree incline, keeping your elbows tucked in and driving your arms back over your head. Number 2, tricep kickbacks.If you were to just rotate your body 30 degrees, you’ll notice that this is the exact same movement as a tricep pushdown. This allows you to load heavier and more comfortably instead of tilting forward to accomplish the same thing. Finally number 3 is the dumbbell hex press. Now, when it comes to training the chest, you always want to stretch the muscle fibers at the bottom by bringing your arms apart, which is something you just can’t do by holding the dumbbells together. So just do a normal bench press with dumbbells or a barbell and you’ll be fine.

Ngl, I love tricep kickbacks as a warm up. Takes a lot of stress off my elbows doing a set of them before bench.

The Arnold press is not useless, it's better for the shoulder joints, so if you have shoulder problems you should use them instead of the regular as it's a more gentle and natural movement.

My physiotherapist was the first to recommend me it, and after doing some research I've found that he's right

Anatomically there is a reason behind this triceps kickback as the triceps exist to extend the ellbow as well as extend the shoulder. So putting the arm behind the back while doing triceps extension (as seen in the video) is the only way to activate the WHOLE triceps and not just the medial part.

The Kickback is an absolute staple of any tricep workout due to the fact that it's the only exercise that has the long head behind the back. The arnold press also has higher activation of the delts than a traditional Shoulder press

Arnold press in my opinion keeps you accountable for full range of motion. Way too many people go too heavy and stop when there arms are at 90 degrees.

For the triceps there constituted of 4 different muscle regions and the kickbacks target different parts than pushdowns, since in the kickbacks you move your triceps behind your shoulder in a horizontal way, but in the pushdowns you move them towards the ground which is kinda easier (and i can use physics to prove it🤓☝️)

Arnold press isn't just moving your arms back and forth unless you're doing it wrong. The point is to increase the range of motion by rotating your palms towards your chest through the bottom 3/4 of the movement on the negative, and away from your chest on the positive.
