I once had 10 kitties that I inherited from various family members - 6 boys and 4 girls. The boys all hung out together and were one big happy bunch. In fact, the 5 oldest boys taught the youngest boy who grew up in an old chicken coup how to use the litter box. Only one of the girls was a tomboy who would tease the boy kitties. The other 3 girls were very happy being in their own space. But all were very loving kitties.

I’ve had female cats but I recently adopted a male cat. He is such a boy. My other cat is a diva. He likes to play fetch, she likes to hiss (even before the boy).

My male cat is so laid back he's horizontal. He is follows us all around the house, and loves snuggling up against us.
