I have always had my cats neutered as we need to reduce unwanted cat numbers. Currently I've a male and female cat (same litter), they are wonderful but the 'girl' brings me at least 4 mice a week as she thinks I'm a bad hunter. When my dear wife was dying of cancer, my girl cat used to leave dead mice at the bedroom door because she seemed to know my wife needed help - it was so touching. After my wife died, my boy cat (who was closer to my wife) kept looking for her for ages....

I'm 71 years old. I got my first cat when I was 17. I have had at least one cat in my life for the last 54 years for a total of eight cats. I never went looking for a cat. All my cats came to me as strays, showing up at my back door as young kittens looking for a home. I have been fortunate that most of my cats lived to their early 20's. I have had both males and females and can attest to the fact that my boys were more cuddly and affectionate than the girls, but I loved them all equally. I lost my last cat in January and miss him very much. Cats are the best.

My boy is much more cuddly. He's also always at my side. My girl is more aloof but when she does show affection it's incredibly sweet.

I have a male and a female cat. The male is a lot more affectionate, but he also bites alot and steals our food. The female is not one for cuddles, but she is very well behaved.

I just adopted two female sisters last week and they are so protective over each other and love their cuddle time with me. So happy I got a pair kittens. They play together so much and have each other to learn from. Proud cat dad!

To me it always depends on the cats personality

Either one! Cats rule. Kittens are awesome but don’t forget seniors and special needs pets need homes too. Adopt and save a life. They bring so much joy and can bring meaning and purpose to your life. Maybe a cat or dog will save your life one day. It happens. Also if you commit stay committed. Do everything in your power to keep them. They’re not phones to be returned or upgraded.

Cats and dogs are truly one of the best things in this life and if you don’t have a furry family member, then you’re missing out.

Kudos to all the pet parents of the world!

Male cats
Pros: cuddly, calm, less stress for first timers
Cons: likes sex, fights, harsh at playtime
Females Cats
Pros: amazingly protective, theirs skins are smoother than males
Cons: doesnt like cuddling that much

In my experience, my female cat rarely purrs at me and she never approaches when i call out her name. She always find a way for me to follow what she demands. With a male cat, i dont need to call out his name because he is always quick to approach and mega clingy. Just too clingy.

after reading through comment sections, i concluded that male cats are more friendly/affectionate?

I’ve had male cats before and I said “male cats are the best!” I currently have two girls, and guess what: they’re wonderful and loving. Moral of the story, all cats are the best.

I've had both. In my experience the males were more affectionate and laid back. We just adopted an orphaned female. She's pretty sweet and social, but still in her feisty kitten stage. Always wants to play.

My boy cat is the opposite of this video. When he was not neutered yet (neutered when he was 3yrs), he was a home stay, very affectionate, seek so much attention, never show signs of aggression with my other male cat. He never sprayed anywhere, never scratched furnitures. But he’s a little timid with people outside our home. Trying to train him on a leash so he becomes more confident because he does love the outdoors. Just the sweetest and gentle soul🥺❤️

In my experience, females are more independent and males are more clingy.

My mom never owned a female cat because to her, they've acted more like female dogs (minus one skittish feral cat we owned). And all males were loving. Mine is clingy af.

My most cuddly kitty was my boy Orange.
He used to come running when I came outside and literally jump into my arms.
I didn't even have to signal him he would just expect me to catch him every time lol.

We've only had males. Both were very effectioness. And hated change.
My friend has one of each. The male wants to play all day and the female doesn't.
